Father Broom gives a talk on June 10,2012 – The Solemnity of Corpus Christi.

How did the Saints love the Eucharist? Their example can inspire us to worship, appreciate, respect, and give thanks for this Gift of Gifts – Jesus truly present in the Holy Eucharist.

Fathers uses the following Saints to give us practical ways to love the Eucharist more each day:
St. Charbel Makhluf – Preparation and Thanksgiving
St. Tarcisius – Defense and Protection of the Eucharist
Blessed Jacinta and Francisco of Fatima – Adoration
St. Dominic Savio – Thanksgiving so profound it leads to ecstasy
St. Anthony of Padua – All creation bows before the Eucharist
St. Philip Neri – Deeper more profound belief in the Eucharist
St. Padre Pio and St. Catherine of Siena – Total reliance on the Eucharist
St. Anthony Mary Claret – Living in the perpetual presence of the Eucharist within
St. Margaret Clitherow – Martyrdom to protect priests
St. Juan Diego – Sacrificing our life for the Eucharist
Blessed Jose Luis Sanchez del Rio – Viva Cristo Rey!

Father Ed Broom in his Friday night Perseverance talk devotes his efforts to the Feast of Corpus Christi – this Sunday, June 10, 2012.

He gives us the Biblical explanations of the Eucharist both in the Old and New Testaments. He places our belief in the Eucharist in an ecclesial context by explaining several key Papal documents and Sacrosanctum Concilium from Vatican Two. He explains clearly the need to both have the Dogma and the Devotion and gives several examples of ways to deepen our devotion. His prayer is that every day each of us would fall more and more in love with Jesus in the Eucharist.

Father Broom’s homily on June 7, 2012 – preaching on Mark 12:28-34.

“Which is the greatest of all the Commandments?” Father Ed suggests we make the Lord’s answer our daily prayer: Today I shall love the Lord my God with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, and with all my strength. And today I shall love my neighbor as myself. What a powerful prayer…. and Father shows us that St. Thomas Aquinas lived this prayer and is a true model of love of God and neighbor.

Father Broom is his daily Mass homily on June 7, 2012 explains the three “C”s of Marriage. Commitment – Communication – Christ.

All three are important – but if we have Christ in the marriage our commitment and communication will improve. Father gives several practical examples of how to keep Jesus at the center of our married life. The couple that prays together stays together.
