Father Broom preaches on February 16, the Feast Day of St. Claude de la Colombière. He lived from 1641 to 1682 – 41 years. He was a faithful follower of St. Ignatius. He was the Confessor and Spiritual Director of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque who received the visions and message of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was St. Claude who recognized the truth of her visions and thus helped spread this devotion to the whole world.

Ash Wednesday 2013. Father Broom prepares us to have the best Lent of our life and shows us how to live Lent as if it were the last Lent of our life.

Three Practices:

Prayer – especially the greatest prayer, the Holy Mass

Fasting – disciplining ourselves for the glory of God and reparation for sins

Almsgiving – Particularly the almsgiving of kindness to others particularly in our family. To practice kindness when we are tired or frustrated or ill is a great gift we can all give.
