Father Broom leads the Novena prayers on Day Nine – We have been praying the Novena to the Mother of God for our country and to prepare ourselves for the Year of Faith which begins October 11, 2012 and continues until November 24, 2013 (the Feast of Christ the King).

This last day of the Novena is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. She is in Heaven and loves us her children. Beg for the grace for Our Lord and Mary to strengthen our faith in this year.

Father Broom presents a meditation on the Lord’s Prayer. This prayer given by Our Lord points us to God the Father, our eternal destiny – Heaven – and the means to get there – give us this day our daily bread. The daily bread of the Word of God and the daily bread of the Body and Blood of Jesus in the Eucharist are our path to salvation.

Father Broom tells us that Mary, the Mother of God was the one who kept the Hope of the Resurrection alive on Holy Saturday – we dedicate every Saturday to her for this reason.

St. Ignatius and many of the Doctors of the Church believe that Our Lord’s 1st appearance on Easter was to this beacon of hope… Mary – His Mother and Our Mother.

”It seems unbelievable that a man should perish in whose favor Christ said to His Mother: ‘Behold thy son’, provided that he has not turned a deaf ear to the words, which Christ addressed to him: ‘Behold thy Mother.’”
–Saint Robert Bellarmine, Cardinal-Bishop and Doctor of the Church

Father Broom preaches on the passage in Luke on Martha and Mary…
Our Lord says Mary chose the better part. Spending time with Him – Listening to Him – pouring our her heart to Him.

She is the model for our daily Holy Hour – Sixty minutes of choosing the better part… silent meditative prayer… spending time with the one who loves us and whom we love most of all.

Father Broom in his Sunday, 10/07/12, homily gives a dynamic explanation of the Five Non Negotiables of Catholic Christian voting. Cloning, Embryonic Stem Cell Experimentation, Abortion, Same Sex “Marriage”,and Euthanasia.
These five practices are all intrinsically evil and must never be promoted by our votes.
