Father Broom preaches at a 40th Wedding Anniversary Mass on how to have a Holy, Happy, and Healthy marriage – the marriage that God intends for all of those married sacramentally.

God must be the head of every marriage and must be the center.

Both husband and wife must have a personal prayer life to enrich their relationship with God. The couple should have a family prayer life – blessing of meals, family rosary, Holy Mass together – everyday if possible.

The spouses should pray for each other and their children. The should teach their children to pray for the parents and their brothers and sisters.

Lastly Father told us that there are three essential phrases in the life of a holy, happy, healthy couple:
I Love You
Will You Forgive Me?
I Forgive You.

If we follow God’s plan for our marriage , He will shower us with graces and joys beyond belief!

GENEROSITY | ALL OUR TIME, OUR TALENTS, OUR TREASURE

Today’s Gospel is about a woman whose praises will be sung for all time! Who is she?…..she is a poor suffering unnamed widow. Maybe she was barefoot and poorly clothed with her fatherless children in tow. Yet she gave all that she had to God! And we sing her praises to this day. She didn’t give from her leftovers once every other need was taken care of. No, she gave from her substance -she gave everything to God and trusted Him to provide.

Father Broom asks us if we are generous with our time? our talent? amd our treasure?… do we give until it hurts? Do we give from our surplus – that is like serving a guest leftovers when they come to dinner. Or do we give from our substance – do we give all like that widow?

Father Broom speaks in his Friday evening Perseverance talk on the means we can use to express our gratitude for this awesome gift. He explains how we can worship God in the Holy Eucharist, how we can express our remorse to Him, how we can thank Him for his many blessings and how we can ask for what we need… we can do all of this in our relationship to Christ truly present in the Eucharist.

Every day we should express our gratitude for the Eucharist. Why don’t we start today by making even a short visit to Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament…He will be glad to see you.

Father Broom teaches on the reality of death and how to prepare for a holy happy death. Saint Catherine of Siena says that the two most important moments of our life are the present moment and the moment of our death.

Father Broom gives us ten ways to prepare for a holy and happy death. If we follow these steps we will spend all eternity with Mary and all the Saints in the presence of Father Son and Holy Spirit.

Our goal is to get to Heaven and take as many people with us as possible. We should teach these steps to our children and everyone we meet.
