Father Broom in his Friday Evening Perseverance Talk gives us the life of the great Secretary of Divine Mercy – Saint Faustina Kowalska – 1905- 1938.
She was the first Saint canonized in the new Millennium. She was canonized on Mercy Sunday, 2000, by Blessed Pope John Paul II.

Jesus called her to spread His message of Mercy throughout the whole world. Because of that today we have her “Diary of Divine Mercy in My Soul.” We are the recipients of His great Mercy and we are called to practice Mercy every day.

Father Broom speaks in his Mass homily on Mary – Our Model.

Mary said “Yes” to God’s request delivered by the Archangel Gabriel.

She said “Yes” – “Be it done unto me according to your word”

Her “Yes” meant that the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity became truly present in her body – body, blood, soul and divinity. God was truly present in her.

When we say our “Yes” in Holy Communion… when the priest says “Body of Christ” and we say “Amen” – the body blood soul and divinity of Jesus Christ is born in us. Mary is our Model. Let’s say “Yes” with the same purity,devotion, prayerfulness and fervor that Mary did.

Father Broom introduces this beautiful Novena that we will praying every day until October 10th. We are praying to Mary for our country in these perilous times. We are also preparing for the Year of Faith which begins October 11.

The theme of Day One is Mary is the Immaculate Conception. We pray that our country will end the evil practices of contraception and abortion.

Father Broom preaches on the Feast Day of the Little Flower – St. Therese – October 1st, 2012. This great Saint wanted to be a missionary. She wanted to do great things for God! God had other plans for her than to go far away as a missionary….. but he had a most important mission for her. She was to go to the whole world with His special message and she did it from inside a cloistered Carmelite Monastery.

Her message was to do small things for God but to do them with great love. This is a mission we can all do no matter what our state of life is. God will ask us at the end of our lives did we love Him and did we love our neighbor…. if we answer yes then he will say” “well done good and faithful servant, welcome to my Fathers Home”. It is the little way and the way of great love.

Father Broom preaches on Sunday, September 30 on Mark Chapter 9.

There is a hell – Christ tells us there is – again and again. Our Lady has revealed it at Fatima to the little children. The children said if Mary had not been with them they would have died of fright. Our Lord gave St. Faustina a graphic vision of Hell and the souls there. She noted that those in Hell were those who did not believe in its existence! We had better believe!!! We can not presume we always have more time!

The Good News is that God’s infinite Mercy has provided us a multitude of means to avoid Hell! Father gives us three ways to assure our salvation: 1) Go to Confession regularly! Have an abhorrence of any sin.
2) Go to Holy Communion often with fervor and
3) Love Mary and say the rosary everyday.
