Father Broom in his Friday evening Perseverance talk paints a portrait of our new Holy Father – Pope Francis. He gives us his family origins, his educational background and his life a a Jesuit before he became a Bishop at age 55.

He is an active preacher of the truths of Catholicism and has vigorously defended the unborn and the sanctity of marriage. His 1st actions as Pope showed him to be a man of deep prayer, profound humility, and an abiding love for the poor and abandoned.

We must pray for him, love him, and obey him. He is our Father! He will be formally installed on the feast day of the patron of all fathers – St. Joseph – Foster Father of Jesus and Husband of Mary.
