Father Broom speaks about Naaman the Syrian from Second Kings Chapter 5.
Naaman is a powerful military leader and a close associate of the Syrian King. But he has leprosy…..his only hope for a cure is putting his trust in the hands of the One True God through God’s prophet, Elisha. He is given a miraculous cure.
We also have leprosy – the leprosy of sin…. actual sins and inclinations towards sin. Our only hope is through the intervention of God through the Sacraments…. We can be cured. We can be made clean in Confession and Holy Communion.
