Father Broom preaches on Friday, December 21 on Luke 1:39-45 – the Visitation. He draws three lessons for us from this Gospel. The first one is that Mary has a harmony between her contemplative life and her active life. She is in prayer, in communion with God in the Annunciation and engages God in a dialogue through St.Gabriel. When she has received the Word of God within her… she becomes a beacon of charity… going in haste to help Elizabeth. Second, Mary is open to all of the inspirations of the Holy Spirit and is our model in docility. Third, she is filled with joy in her prayer and her active work.

May her prayer be ours:
“My soul doth magnify the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
