Father Broom talks on the Sunday Gospel of October 27 – Mark 10: 46-52 –
the healing of Bartimaeus.

“What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.” Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.

How about us? We have sight but do we see? Do we see the glory of God’s creation all around us? Do we see Christ in the poor and helpless? Do we see God in all things and all things in God? Or are we as blind as Bartimaeus. No one is as blind as he who will not see. Is that me?
