This Saint was committed to chastity and poverty even as a child. He had a mother who was widowed at 18 and dedicated her life to making him a saint. He was a physician, a Founder of a Religious Community called the Barnabites, and was a fiery preacher like his model St. Paul. He knew that he had to set all on fire! He promoted the Forty Hour Devotion and Eucharistic adoration. He is a model for us – Father Broom prays that we will become great saints and save many souls!
Father Ed Broom, OMV, is Associate Pastor of St. Peter Chanel Church in Hawaiian Gardens, California. He is a member of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary and was ordained by Saint John Paul II on May 25, 1986. Fr. Ed teaches Catholic Ignatian Marian Spirituality through articles, podcasts, a radio show, retreats and spiritual direction.
