Father Broom’s Homily on Friday, June 1, 2012. In todays gospel, Jesus casts out the money changers and livestock traders. These merchants had despoiled God’s house… do we do the same when we fail to have proper reverence in church. Do we practice silence? Do we turn off cell phones. Do we dress modestly? Think of Mary and all the saints gathered around the altar at every Mass.

Father Ed Broom, OMV, is Associate Pastor of St. Peter Chanel Church in Hawaiian Gardens, California. He is a member of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary and was ordained by Saint John Paul II on May 25, 1986. Fr Ed’s teaches Catholic Ignatian Marian Spirituality through articles, podcasts, a radio show, retreats and spiritual direction.
