Fr Ed Broom calls us to offer Communions of reparation; see if you can offer a communion of reparation for all the sins of the world, but most specifically for the sins against the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who is truly present in every Mass! Receive communion with greater fervor, with love!
One of the most famous images in the catholic world is the image of the Sacred Heart. In the most famous apparition, Jesus appears to St Margaret Mary Alacoque in Paray le Monial with his heart on fire, surrounded by thorns, and he says: “Behold the heart that loves so much, and receives only indifference and ingratitude in return. Console my heart.” That is the heart of the message. This was 1673, more than 300 years ago. According to Pope Francis, in his Lenten message, what is one of the biggest maladies of the modern world? He says: The globalization of indifference. There is a dense cloud of indifference that is descending on the world and even among catholics. We are breathing the air of indifference and tepidity and it rubs off on us. I want to invite all of you to receive communion with greater fervor. This is what Jesus wanted St Margaret Mary Alacoque to do. Offer Communions of reparation. See if you can offer a communion of reparation. For all the sins of the world, but most specifically for the sins against the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who is truly present in every Mass.
