Father Broom preaches on Luke 5:12-16 – The healing of the man full of leprosy. Father describes his own experiences with lepers. What suffering lepers have: physical pain, the ugliness of their bodies, the cruel words and actions of people who hate them.
There is also the leprosy of sin, which we all have. This leprosy deforms our soul, causes us to feel distant from God’s presence and love, and could cause us to despair. There is a healing for us in the great Sacrament of Confession if each of us would say: I am a leper, Heal Me Jesus. We will be healed – We will be restored in the loving Sacred Heart of Jesus.
