Somos seguidores de Jesucristo, por lo tanto, debemos ser perpetuos optimistas, es más: confiar siempre en el cuidado amoroso y providencial de Dios para todos y cada uno de nosotros, siempre llenos de esperanza. Jesús dice: “Pues aun vuestros cabellos están todos contados”; Dios sabe cuando se cae uno. Ni las aves del cielo, ni los lirios del campo pasan desapercibidos para Dios, Dios cuida de ellos. Jesús quiere que aprendamos una lección de los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no se afanan, ni hilan; Jesús dice: “pero les digo que ni siguiera Salomón en toda su gloria se vistió como uno de estos.” (Mateo 6:28,29)
Iniciamos un Año Nuevo – quizás estemos comenzando una nueva carrera, una nueva vocación o emprendiendo una nueva empresa – debemos esmerarnos e implementar propuestas concretas y diversas. ¡Comencemos bien, para acabar bien! Son muchos los que comienzan la carrera de larga distancia, y pocos los que persisten hasta el final. Queremos estar entre aquellos que comienzan, terminan y ganan el merecido premio. Pensando en todo esto, a continuación, ¡le presentamos una serie de ideas efectivas para allanar el camino y lograr un fin exitoso!
1. PONER A DIOS PRIMERO EN TODO. En todas nuestras empresas e iniciativas, pongamos siempre a Dios en el centro. ¡Nuestro Dios es un amante celoso, no comparte su gloria con nadie o con nada! Jesús dice que el primero y más grande de todos los mandamientos es amar a Dios con todo el corazón, toda la mente, todo el alma y todas nuestras fuerzas; y amar a nuestro prójimo como a nosotros mismos. (Lucas 10: 27)
2. RECUERDA DIARIO EL POR QUE DE TU EXISTENCIA. El ave está hecha para volar alto; el pez, a nadar en las profundidades del mar. El plan de Dios para el ser humano es unión con Él. San Ignacio en los Ejercicios Espirituales- Principio y Fundamento – nos recuerda: “El hombre ha sido creado para alabar a Dios, hacer reverencia y servir a Dios nuestro Señor y, mediante esto, salvar su alma”.
3. PURIFICAR LOS AFECTOS DESORDENADOS. Digámoslo pues con toda sinceridad, y aun agregaré, con toda humildad, cada uno de nosotros debe hacerse esta pregunta: ¿Qué afección desordenada tengo yo en mi vida? Luego, intentemos con firmeza de voluntad y determinación, y la gracia de Dios, remediar este apego. San Agustín presenta este fruto de una vida bien ordenada: “Paz, la tranquilidad del orden”. ¡El Espíritu Santo es un Dios de orden!
4. LA CONFESION. Para superar el desorden moral que llamamos pecado, necesitamos la gracia sanadora de Dios. Esta gracia se canaliza de manera más abundante mediante el Sacramento de la Confesión. Acércate a este Sacramento de la Misericordia de Dios con confianza sin límite. ¡Jesús, en Ti confío!
5. CONTROLA TU LENGUA. La Sagrada Escritura habla muy claramente, y los santos sin cesar nos recuerdan: no podemos llegar a la verdadera santidad si no controlamos la lengua.
6. SEAMOS LENTOS PARA HABLAR Y PRONTOS PARA ESCUCHAR. El Apóstol Santiago nos exhorta – en el capítulo 3 de la Carta del Apóstol Santiago -a que refrenemos la lengua, ¡léalo en espíritu de oración! Es uno de los mejores capítulos sobre los pecados de la lengua.
7. VIVE LA REGLA DE ORO. “Así que en todo traten ustedes a los demás tal y como quieren que ellos los traten a ustedes”. Todos queremos que nos traten con amabilidad, queremos que nos traten con compasión y atención, queremos ser amados. ¡Hagamos lo mismo con los demás! Esto da gran consuelo al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús.
8. ¡GUARDA TUS OJOS! Hoy más que nunca, debemos guardar estricta custodia de todos nuestros sentidos, pero especialmente de nuestros ojos. ¡Los ojos son el espejo del alma! Jesús nos dice en una de las bienaventuranzas: “Bienaventurados los puros de corazón, porque verán a Dios” (Mt 5:8)
9. LA PRACTICA DE VIVIR EN LA PRESENCIA DE DIOS. El corazón de la espiritualidad del Hermano Lawrence era muy sencilla: “Vive en la presencia de Dios”. Si lo hacemos, evitaremos muchísimos pecados y Dios será nuestro compañero en todo momento de nuestra vida. Santa Teresa de Ávila afirma, que una de las principales razones por la cual pecamos es porque nos olvidamos de la presencia de Dios.
10. DAR GRACIAS A DIOS EN TODO. Esta exhortación la leemos en las cartas del apóstol san Pablo. Jesús se sorprende que solo uno de los diez leprosos que Él sano regresó a darle gracias. Dios nos libre de la ingratitud. Por el contrario, ¡cultivemos una actitud de gratitud! ¡Dios ama las almas agradecidas y en ellas derrama su gracia!
11. CONDIMENTOS DE LA VIDA SOCIAL: SON CUATRO. Tres condimentos dan sabor a nuestro trato con otros. Fomentemos fundamentos básicos de la educación y cortesía con las expresiones: “por favor”, “gracias”, “permiso” y “discúlpeme”. Son palabras cortas, fáciles y amables que expresan humildad de corazón.
12. SE HUMILDE. Seamos prontos para admitirlo si nos equivocamos o cometemos un error; admitámoslo a Dios y a nuestro hermano. Solo Dios es perfecto, nosotros no lo somos; ¡somos pecadores! Las Sagradas Escrituras nos dicen que el hombre justo cae siete veces al día. Pidamos a Jesús: “Jesús manso y humilde de corazón, haced mi corazón semejante al vuestro”.
13. NO DEJES PARA MAÑANA LO QUE PUEDES HACER HOY. La gracia de Dios, ¡como viene va! Cuando el Espíritu Santo nos manda una inspiración y pide que emprendamos alguna iniciativa, no demoremos en llevarla a cabo, no lo dejemos para otro día. La vida es corta; la eternidad es para siempre.
14. SI TROPIEZAS, VUELVE A PONERTE DE PIE – NUNC COEPI. La frase “nunc coepi” es frase en latín que significa “ahora comienzo”, es una expresión que señala la determinación de ponerse de pie inmediatamente. Una las artimañas del diablo es desanimarnos. Dios nos impulsa y ama lo contrario; Dios quiere, que si caemos en el pecado, que regresemos confiadamente a Él. Jesús dijo a santa Faustina, que los más grandes pecadores pueden llegar a ser los más grandes santos si tan sólo confían en su infinita misericordia!
15. NUESTRA CRUZ, ¿QUE HACER CON ELLA? Debemos reconocer a cruz o cruces que Dios en su Divina Providencia nos envía. Al reconocer nuestra cruz, pidamos al Señor y a su Santísima Madre la gracia de llevarla con paciencia. Porque con Jesús y María a nuestro lado, podremos llevar cualquier cruz. ¿Cómo es eso? ¡Porque Jesús llevará la mayor parte!
16. ¿TENTADO? ¡CORRE A MARIA! En cuanto le alguna tentación del enemigo le asalte, eleve su mente y su corazón a María rezando una Avemaría con fervor. ¡María aplastará la cabeza fea de la serpiente! Todos los demonios del infierno tienen un miedo mortal del santo nombre de María.
17. SE UN SIMON EL CIRINEO, UN BUEN SAMARITANO EN SENDERO DE LA VIDA. Cada vez que encuentres a una persona, ya sea familia, amigo, colega o cualquier persona, que esté pasando por un profundo estado de desolación, trata de consolarlo; ¡dale una palabra de aliento, una sonrisa o reza por ella! Esto es muy agradable a Jesús y María.
18. HAZ LAS COSAS ORDINARIAS CON EXTRAORDINARIO AMOR. ¡La santidad no depende en que movamos montañas, resucitemos a los muertos, o incluso que los ciegos vean! Jesús hizo estos maravillosos milagros para dar prueba de su Divinidad y para manifestar su gran compasión por los enfermos y todos los que sufren. Dios nos da a cada uno tareas que desempeñar cada día, a veces son cosas pequeñas, a veces monumentales; ¡pero igual debemos pedir a Dios la gracia de hacer las cosas de cada día – las cosas ordinarias – con extraordinario amor! ¡Dios no se fija en la grandeza de la acción sino en el amor y la intención del corazón!
19. MISA DIARIA Y SANTA COMUNION. En el Padre Nuestro pedimos: “Danos hoy el pan de cada día”. A esta oración podemos dar una interpretación sacramental; pedimos cada día la SANTA COMUNION. Analice sus obligaciones cada semana o su agenda, si es posible, acuda a la Santa Misa y reciba la Santa Comunión todos los días, si no es posible todos los días, por lo menos varias veces cada semana, y claro, ¡sin descuidar el domingo!
20. AMAR A MARIA, HABLAR Y CONFIAR EN MARIA. Por último, cualquier cosa que hagamos, pongámosla en las manos y el Inmaculado Corazón de María. San Luis de Montfort llama a María, la tesorera, administradora y dispensadora de todas las gracias. Al poner en sus manos todas las cosas, Ella las colocará en el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús; Jesús es nuestro refugio por toda la eternidad. Meditemos las palabras de San Luis de Montfort: “Vivir en María significa amar a María con el corazón. Significa amarla tanto que solo podemos vivir en su Inmaculado Corazón”.
