SANTA MARIA DEL CAMINO


El objetivo de nuestra vida es llegar al cielo; no hay objetivo más noble o importante que éste. Dijo Jesús con toda claridad: ¿Qué aprovechará al hombre, si ganare todo el mundo, y perdiere su alma? ¿O qué recompensa dará el hombre por s alma?

San Luis de Montfort nos habla de una manera práctica y eficaz para llegar al cielo; ¡la Santísima Virgen María! En su gran obra Tratado de la verdadera devoción a María, este gran santo mariano, nos enseña cómo consagrarnos a Jesús mediante María. Nos dice: “María es el medio más seguro, fácil, corto y perfecto para llegar a Jesús”. Así es, si amamos a Jesús, al llegar al final de nuestra vida, el cielo será nuestro por toda la eternidad.

San Ignacio de Loyola, fundador de los Jesuitas y autor de los Ejercicios Espirituales, tuvo una especial devoción a María bajo el patrocinio de la “Madona de la Strada”, que en español sería, “Nuestra Señora del Camino”, por cierto, hay un hermoso canto mariano en italiano y en español en honor a María bajo el este título que va algo así. “Mientras recorres la vida, tú nunca solo estás, contigo por el camino, Santa María va.”

Esta breve reflexión tiene como fin, animarnos a todos para que invoquemos a Nuestra Señora, pidámosle que camine con nosotros en nuestro caminar a las patria celestial. Presentaremos ideas concretas de cómo y cuándo la podemos invocar.

  1. CADA MAÑANA AL DESPERTAR. Cada mañana al despertar, pida a Nuestra Señora que le acompañe en su jornada de ese día, rezando su acto de consagración. Consagre a Jesús todo su ser por manos María Inmaculada. Entréguele a María, sus ojos, sus oídos, su mente, su corazón y todo su ser, que ella nos conduce y entrega a Jesús.
  1. AL SALIR DE CASA Y ENTRAR AL MUNDO. Al salir de casa y dirigirse a su destino – a la escuela o su trabajo, etc. – invoque a Nuestra Señora del Camino, implore su compañía y su protección contra la penetrante influencia del mal que nos rodea. Tres son los enemigos: demonio, mundo y carne, que combaten contra la obra de Dios, el hombre, para impedir su salvación. Implore a la Virgen Inmaculada su protección maternal, que le ampare bajo su mano. La mundanidad asfixia los pulmones del alma; María purifica y protege.
  1. ENCUENTROS.   Uno de los encuentros más bellos encuentros en el Evangelio es el encuentro entre María y su prima Isabel; el Espíritu Santo infundio su espíritu en este encuentro. Pídale a Nuestra Señora que no se aparte de su lado todo el día, que este en sus encuentros, para que sean agradables a Dios, y nos conduzcan al cielo y que acerquen más a las personas con quien trata. La presencia de María santifica nuestras reuniones tal como santificó el encuentro a santa Isabel y al niño que llevaba en su vientre – san Juan Bautista.
  1. CONVIVIOS FAMILIARES. Dios es familia – Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. La Sagrada Familia la componen: Jesús, María y José. Nosotros igual estamos llamados a vivir en una familia. También nosotros, estamos llamados a vivir en familia, a aprender el arte de saber escuchar, de dar, de compartir y de amar. En las reuniones familiares – días de fiesta, aniversarios, cumpleaños – invitemos a Nuestra Señora a estar presente entre nosotros. La amabilísima Madre de Jesús quien estuvo en las bodas de Cana, siempre atenta a las necesidades de todos, sensible a los problemas cotidianos, observó delicadamente que “faltaba vino”. Ella presento las carencias de los novios a Jesús y Jesús dio pronto alivio convirtiendo el agua en el mejor vino. Si la Santísima Virgen María está presente en nuestras reuniones familiares, habrá gozo, paz, amor y armonía. María es portadora de Jesús, portadora de gozo y paz, ella nos lleva a Jesús. De forma concreta, podemos colocar una hermosa imagen de María; la Virgen de Fátima, Lourdes o Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
  1. EN LAS PENAS, CRUCES Y PRUEBAS… Cuando en su vida tiene que atravesar caminos tenebrosos, caminos de dolor, cruces, temores, ansiedades, dudas e incertidumbres, invoque a la Virgen Santísima, pida con humildad que lo acompañe, que camine con usted. Vemos un magnífico ejemplo en la persona de san Juan Diego, quien caminaba con el corazón angustiado por la enfermedad de su tío Juan Bernardino. Con este estado de ánimo, Juan Diego la da la vuelta al cerro y va en búsqueda del sacerdote para que le administrara los sacramentos a su tio. Pero la gran Madre de Dios, baja a su encuentro, y con amor maternal, le asegura la recuperación de su tío. En nuestras penas y sufrimientos, en la enfermedad y las angustias, invitemos a Nuestra Señora del Camino que nos acompañe! ¡María acudirá a nuestro auxilio y caminará con nosotros!
  1. IMPLORAR A MARÍA SU PRESENCIA EN NUESTRA ORACIÓN. Quien está comprometido a su vida de oración inevitablemente encontrará obstáculos; desaliento ante la sequedad y aridez, la disminución de los consuelos de Dios, a veces nos sentimos cansados, tentados y atraídos a las cosas mundanas, indiferentes o aburridos con las cosas de Dios. Todos pueden pasar por estos estados el alma y pueden ser una piedra de tropiezo en nuestra vida espiritual. Por lo tanto, es vital que cada uno de nosotros nos comprometamos seriamente a esta empresa de cultivar nuestra vida de oración, invocando e invitando a Nuestra Señora que rece por y con nosotros. No olvidemos, que en los momentos más oscuros de la oración, Nuestra Señora está con nosotros: “Dios te salve, Reina y Madre, Madre de misericordia, vida y dulzura, esperanza nuestra…”

  2. EL UMBRAL DE LA ETERNIDAD; EL MOMENTO DE LA MUERTE. Santa Catalina de Sena, Doctora de la Iglesia afirma: “Los dos momentos más importantes de nuestra vida son: ahora y la hora de nuestra muerte” – palabras que repetimos cada vez que rezamos el Avemaría. En efecto, lo importante que es para nosotros cerrar el libro de nuestra vida con la firma de María. Las últimas palabras de santa Bernardita, vidente de Lourdes, fueron: “Santa María, Madre de Dios, ruega por mi, pobre pecadora, ahora y en la hora de mi muerte. Amén.” Si formamos el hábito de rezar el santo Rosario, pidiendo cincuenta veces: “Santa María, Madre de Dios, ruega por nosotros, pecadores, ahora y en la hora de nuestra muerte. Amén,” María estará presente para ayudarnos a morir en gracia para ganar el cielo, en el momento de nuestra muerte antes de entregar nuestro espíritu y presentarnos ante el tribunal de Dios.

El padre Ed Broom, OMV (Oblato de la Virgen María), conocido también como Padre Escobita, fue ordenado sacerdote por san Juan Pablo II en 1986. Es asistente del párroco en la Iglesia de San Pedro Chanel en Hawaiian Gardens (California). Allí imparte retiros, da los Ejercicios Espirituales de San Ignacio de Loyola, organiza y dirige su propio programa de radio y televisión en Guadalupe Radio –Barriendo Conciencias.
