Así lo dice el Concilio Vaticano II: la familia es “la iglesia doméstica”. El Santo Padre, san Juan Pablo II afirma: “La familia constituye la célula fundamental de la sociedad.” ¡Es verdad! Si la familia anda mal, la sociedad anda mal; la historia nos confirma la realidad, cuando la familia se desbarata en poco tiempo se derrumba la sociedad, es solo cuestion de tiempo. Frente a ésta realidad, debemos luchar enérgicamente por el futuro de nuestra sociedad, luchando por edificar y santificar la familia. ¡Si bien es claro que a cada uno corresponde una parte!
Este breve ensayo presenta cinco ideas concretas para formar familias sólidas y santas, ya que el futuro de nuestra sociedad y del mundo depende de la ello. Que la Sagrada Familia, la familia perfecta de Jesús, María y José, sea nuestro modelo e impulse y vivifique nuestro trabajo.
1. PREPARACIÓN PARA EL MATRIMONIO. Tristemente, en los últimos años, los curls preparatorios para recibir el sacramento del matrimonio se han vuelto casi inexistentes. Para remediar esto, se podría equipar a un grupo de «mentores matrimoniales» en cada parroquia. El matrimonio mentor acompañaría y guiaría a cada pareja de novios en esta hermosa vocación que llamamos el matrimonio. Concretamente, cada parroquia debería tener un equipo de parejas que serían “mentores matrimoniales”; estas parejas serían parejas que tienen una profunda vida espiritual, tienen gran amor por la familia, tienen conocimiento práctico de su propia vocación matrimonial, tienen un genuino amor por la Iglesia y por la vida sacramental. Esta pareja de mentores, llamémosles “padrinos espirituales”, preparará a los novios para el matrimonio. Este programa conllevaría una cita semanal con los novios hasta el día de la boda. Cada cita, o clase se desarrollaría de la siguiente manera: primero, rezarían juntos, y segundo, estudiarían lo que conlleva el sacramento del matrimonio. En el ámbito profesional, es indispensable tener un director o entrenado; cuanto más importante es tener un director en la preparación para el matrimonio para prepara a los novios para emprender el más grande compromiso de su vida.
2.LA SANTA EUCARISTÍA. El gesto más grande que el ser humano puede hacer en este mundo que le une a la liturgia del cielo y con Jesús mismo, es recibir dignamente la santa Eucaristía, comulgar con gran amor y gran devoción. La Eucaristía es el más grande de todos los sacramentos, porque en ella están contenidos verdadera, real y sustancialmente el Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, y por consiguiente, Cristo entero. La pareja que va a Misa y comulga, recibe real y verdaderamente el Sacratísmo Corazón de Jesús. Podemos decir que se realiza un TRASPLANTE DE CORAZON. Quien que recibe debidamente la Eucaristía, se llena del amor del Sacratísmo Corazón de Jesús. Este amor se manifestará en sus tratos con los demás, en sus conversaciones y en todo lo que hace. No hay nada más sublime o noble que el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, horno ardiente de amor, ardiendo en nuestro propio corazón. ¡Qué maravillosa práctica! Si su horario lo permite, recibir la Santa Eucaristía todos los días! ¡Haga la prueba!
3. ESFORZARSE POR AGRADAR Y SERVIR AL OTRO. ¡El amor debe manifestarse en hechos concretos! Tanto el marido como la mujer deben, cada día de su vida matrimonial, hacer un gesto que agrade a su pareja; una palabra amable, un complido, una sonrisa, un pequeño obsequio, una oración fervorosa, un pequeño sacrificio; todos estos son detalles que construyen y no destruyen la familia. Cada noche, antes de retirarse, deben proponerse algo concreto que harán mañana para agradar a su esposo/esposa. Jesús dice: “Quien es fiel en lo poco, será fiel en lo mucho.”
4. EL ARTE DE ESCUCHAR A SU PAREJA CON AMOR. No son pocos los matrimonios que están en peligro por la mala comunicación, o peor aún, por no hablarse, por no comunicarse!!! Tanto el marido como la mujer, deben aprender el arte de escucharse mutuamente. Escuchar es no interrumpir, es escuchar con atención lo que el otro piensa y siente, es importante no condenar y no juzgar. La caridad exige que se respeten mutuamente, especialmente en la comunicación. Como sacerdote, me he dado cuenta, que en más de una ocasión, que cuando ha llegado alguien a hablar conmigo, y me cuenta todos sus problemas, a veces pasa que la persona se desahoga, habla, llora, golpea el escritorio, alza la voz, todo esto por media hora. Pero sucede, que en todo este tiempo que se desahogó, si pronuncie dos palabras, es mucho, lo que sí hice es escuchar con atención. La persona al acabar de hablar, siente un alivio y me dice: “Padre, gracias por resolver mi problema”, y en realidad dije muy poco, lo que sí hice, es ESCUCHE! Esto igual se aplica al matrimonio. A veces la pareja no se habla o se comunica poco. Por lo tanto, esforcémonos por cultivar este arte de “escuchar” y hagámoslo con amor, ya que es sumamente importante para salvaguardar la vocación del matrimonio.
5. MISERICORDIA, MISERICORDIA, MISERICORDIA. ¡Solo Dios es perfecto! El hombre justo cae siete veces diario. Tanto el hombre como la mujer fallan, ¡es muy propio del ser humano! Jesús nos dice: “Sean misericordiosos como es misericordioso vuestro Padre celestial.” En la oración más conocida, el Padrenuestro, hallamos los deseos más íntimos de Jesús que nacen de su Sacratísimo Corazón, y esta es nuestra plegaria: “Perdona nuestras ofensas, así como nosotros perdonamos a los que nos ofenden.” En pocas palabras, marido y mujer deben formar el hábito de ser misericordiosos el uno con el otro; si vivimos la misericordia, experimentaremos la misericordia. ¡Es una avenida de doble mano! El poeta inglés, Alexander Pope lo expresó así: “Errar es humano, perdonar es divino, rectificar es de sabios” . La misericordia de Dios es perdonar al pecador. Sigamos el ejemplo de Dios; Él es lento a la ira y rico en misericordia. «Él es lento a la ira y rico en misericordia.»
