Father Ed explains these Eternal Truths: the Four Last Things, and for Catholics, the Five Last Things – Death, Judgment, Heaven, Hell and Purgatory. Saint Ignatius proposes that meditating on these serious topics helps us move away from sin and move towards God. Recognize that by saying “no” to sin and whatever temptations we might have, we are saying “yes” to the love of God and “Yes” to living out Principle and Foundation – the meaning and purpose of our lives: we are created to praise God, to reverence God, to serve God in this life so that we will arrive at our eternal salvation – happiness with God in Heaven for all eternity. Delve into these eternal and challenging truths with Father Ed to find the answers to the questions, the doubts, the confusion that keep us from truly loving God and experiencing the peace and joy He promises now and forever to those who love Him.

Father Ed reminds us that the greatest of all Sacraments is the Holy Eucharist or Holy Communion because it is truly God. You can’t say the other sacraments are God. They communicate God’s grace, but the Eucharist is really God, there is a big difference. Holy Communion is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. Holy Communion gives us God Himself. Holy Communion is Jesus loving us by uniting His whole being with our whole being. In Holy Communion we receive a Heart transplant and a Mind transplant – the very Heart and Mind of Christ! The essence of our Catholic Christian life is loving Christ, but especially in the Mass where He becomes truly present in His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity to be received by each one of us so that we may have life and life everlasting. The Mass is a matter of life and death for us! “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day” (Jn 6:54). Listen to go deeper in your knowledge and love of this most sublime and efficacious Sacrament!

John 15:1-8 – “I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned.” Father Ed uses the lives of the saints and Jesus’ own words in Scripture to show us that hell exists and who goes there according to Jesus’ specific examples of unrepented sins of commission or omission, what we do or what we fail to do.

In the Gospel John 14:27-31 Jesus promises His disciples peace and tells them, “Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” Father Ed gives PEACE as an acronym for five practices to obtain the peace that Jesus, Prince of Peace, promises to those who love Him and follow Him.
