Keeping the Sabbath Holy Keeps Your Family Holy

Father Broom preaches on “Dies Domini” the Apostolic Letter by Blessed Pope John Paul II. This Letter was advice to us on how to properly observe the Sabbath. Father breaks it out in a set of practical steps to sanctify our Sunday and to use it for the purpose God intended.

Our goal should be to make that day one of family Mass and prayer. We should spend time as a family sharing a meal and recreation time. A nature walk or a good wholesome movie shared builds the bonds of family love. This is a time for reading and rest. This restores our strength for the week ahead.

And at the end of the day, we can pray the family rosary. The family that prays together stays together. A Holy Sabbath Builds a Holy Family!

Father Broom talks to the Confirmation boys about the Blessed Virgin Mary. He explains some of the Marian doctrines. Mary is Mother of God, she is Mother of Jesus but she is our Mother too. If we pray to her, she will bring us into a close personal relationship with her Son, Jesus Christ.

Father Broom preaches on Jan. 22, 2013, the fortieth anniversary of Roe v Wade – the saddest day in U.S. history. The innocent child in the womb can not defend himself. We must defend him. He has no voice but ours. We must speak for him.

By our prayers, our sacrifices and our actions we can work both to repair for over 50 million abortions in our beloved country and to prevent all abortions in the future.

Father Broom speaks about St. Agnes who won the Crown of Virginity and the Crown of Martyrdom. She was martyred because she would not offend God or allow her virginity to be taken.

Jesus was the love of her life and he should be the love of ours.
