We all wish everyone “Happy New Year!” But if we do not change both our spiritual and temporal life for the Honor and Glory of God, we are likely to have not a happy new year but the same old sad year we just finished.
Father Broom teaches us the Igantian art of making a Plan of Life/ Reform of Life. The Ignatian principle is that if we do not make concrete proposals to reform our life we will stay in the same rut and never progress in holiness and love of God. He identifies several areas for us to examine ourselves.
What will we do this year to grow closer to Mary? To become a more merciful person? To grow in love for the Sacraments? To grow closer to the Father Son and Holy Spirit? Let’s make our Plan of Life. Let’s make our Reform of Life.
Father Ed Broom OMV is a member of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary and is Associate Pastor at St. Peter Chanel Church in Hawaiian Gardens California.
