A veces parece que hay muchas contradicciones en los pasajes bíblicos, porque parecen presentar conceptos opuestos de los dados en otros pasajes. Por ejemplo, las Sagradas Escrituras llaman a Jesús el Príncipe de Paz y en otra parte Jesús dice: ¡»No piensen que he venido a traer paz a la tierra; no he venido a traer paz, sino espada. Pues he venido a enfrentar al hombre contra su padre, a la hija contra su madre…» En vez de unión familiar hay división en la familia. ¿Es una contradicción?
La realidad es esta: Quien pasa por una profunda conversión se rinde incondicionalmente al amor de Jesús y se adhiere a Él sin reservas. Y esta adhesión a Jesús la vive en medio de su familia y conocidos. ¡Y es entonces que todo el infierno se desencadena y su vida familiar se vuelve un infierno!
Pero igual hay otros que dicen seguir a Cristo pero lo hacen con el más mínimo esfuerzo, con un entusiasmo anémico y casi arrastrando los pies. ¡Lo siguen con un desgano, una mediocridad, una frialdad, una tibieza que espanta! Suelen decir »Soy buena persona, no le hago mal a nadie, no mato, no robo y de vez en cuando le doy un quinto a un hombre pobre que me encuentro en la calle.»
El libro de Apocalipsis advierte a este tipo de personas y dice: »Yo conozco tus obras, que no eres frío ni caliente. ¡Ojalá fueses frío o caliente! Pero porque eres tibio, y no frío ni caliente, te vomitaré de mi boca.» (Ap 3:15-16) ¡Qué palabras bíblicas tan fuertes!
Veamos algunas obras y ejemplos concretos que distinguen al auténtico discípulo de Cristo y el lo sigue con renuencia. Veamos esta dura y cruel realidad.
1. MISA DIARIA. Después de una profunda conversión nace en el alma una fuerte atracción y amor hacia la Santa Misa y la Santa Comunión. Antes de su conversión bastaba ir a Misa los domingos pero ahora siente un hambre insaciable por el Pan de Vida. Pero quienes sufren de una anemia espiritual empiezan a criticar diciéndole que es ¡exagerado! Dicen: »¿Por qué tienes que ir a Misa todos los días cuando sólo es obligatorio ir a Misa los domingos?»
2. HORA SANTA DIARIA. El salmista nos ofrece estas palabras consoladoras: »Gustar y ver qué bueno es el Señor.» Una vez que el alma pasa por esta conversión y ha probado la dulzura de la oración nace un anhelo profundo que solo puede saciarse pasando tiempo prolongado en adoración ante el Santísimo Sacramento. Pero para quién se deja regir por la pereza y la sensualidad, ¡se le hace una locura hacer una hora santa! ¡Ellos prefieren pasar horas en frente de la televisión o la computadora!
3. UN RETIRO ANUAL DE 3 DÍAS O 8 DÍAS. A veces sucede que cuando una ama de casa ha tenido una profunda conversión, escucha el llamado y acepta la invitación del Señor que le dice: «Ven apártate, a un lugar retirado, y descansa un poco… Yo soy manso y humilde de corazón… Mi yugo es suave y mi carga ligera…» El Señor le invita a un retiro de fin de semana o en un retiro Ignaciano de 8 días. Si su esposo es un católico que solo va a Misa los domingos porque es obligatorio, entonces pensará que es absurdo ir a un retiro. Es interesante ver con qué facilidad la familia toma 2 semanas o incluso un mes de vacaciones cada año pero cuando se trata de darle a Jesús una semana, se les hace una locura.
4. ¡CONFESIÓN CADA DOS O TRES SEMANAS! Quien ha pasado por esta METANOIA – una profunda conversión – cambia su forma de ver las cosas. Su conciencia se hace más sensible y recta, más pura y delicada. Por tanto, antes hacia ciertas cosas sin pensarlo dos veces, pero ahora su conciencia están intranquila si hace ciertas cosas, y con mucha razón. Por ejemplo, decir una mentira, llegar tarde al trabajo o a Misa, ver programas de televisión con contenido sexual explícito, decir una grosería o escuchar bramas de mal gusto. Estas cosas no le molestaban antes de su conversión, eran cosas de todos los días. Pero ahora le remuerde la conciencia hacer estas cosas. Siente la necesidad de purificar su conciencia con más frecuencia con la Preciosa Sangre de Cristo en el confesionario. Pero quienes dejan que la mundanalidad se apodere de ellos y les gobierne, piensan que el que se confiesa cada dos semanas sufren de escrúpulos o una conciencia deforme.
5. CÓDIGO DE VESTIR. En cuanto a la manera de vestir, ella se vestía según le dictaba la cultura popular, según la moda. Su criterio era el criterio que la televisión promueve, según se visten los famosos de Hollywood. Y seguro, a su esposo que también le atrae el brillo de Hollywood le gustaba como se viste su esposa. Pero después de su conversión, ella ya no se viste igual. Ahora le repugna esa forma de vestir. Su modelo ya no es Hollywood sino la Santísima Virgen María. Ella fija sus ojos en la pureza y la feminidad de la Madre de Dios. Ese vestido provocativo en su guarda ropas ahora le disgusta y lo rechaza. Pero su esposo piensa que se ha vuelto loca. Este es el razonamiento que él usa: Si Dios le ha dado belleza que lo luzca. Él dice: La belleza es un regalo de Dios, que no lo oculte. Pero ella permanece firme en sus propósito y se deshace de todo vestido provocativo e indecente. Porque solo así podrá imitar más fielmente a la Madre de Dios quien es el verdadero modelo y guía.
Nuestro deseo es que este escrito sirva para apoyar a buenos católicos. Estas son las causas de las divisiones que viven en casa. Aún podríamos decir que sufren persecuciones de comentarios fuertes, tajantes, sarcásticos, irónicos o comentarios burlones.
¡ÁNIMO! ¡Perseveren en su propósito! Fijen los ojos y aferrense a Jesús y María. Jesús y María son nuestros modelos y guías. Por último, lea y medite la última bienaventuranza de Jesus en el Sermón de la Montaña: »Bienaventurados los perseguidos por causa de la justicia, porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos. Bienaventurados cuando por causa mía, os insulten y digan toda clase de calumnias contra ti, alégrense y regocíjense, porque su recompensa será grande en los cielos. Pues bien saben que así persiguieron a los profetas que vivieron antes de ustedes.» (Mt 5, 10-12)
