COMBATE ESPIRITUAL

La palabra de Dios nos enseña que nuestra
vida en la tierra es un constante enfrentamiento, un combate.  Jesús nos dice, que si queremos seguirlo,
debemos estar listos para la batalla.  El
sacramento de la Confirmación fortalece en nuestra alma, los dones del Espíritu
Santo, y nos transforma en «Soldados de Cristo Rey».  Que nuestro grito de guerra sea el mismo de los mártires Cristeros de México, 
«¡Viva Cristo Rey!»

Es importante no desconocer que el diablo
existe y que tiene una elevada inteligencia (perversa), es sumamente astuto
y mañoso y está constantemente al asecho y no desvanece en su
propósito de tentarnos.  Pero, ¡Dios,
María, los ángeles y santos son mucho más poderosos que el diablo! 

El Siervo de Dios, el Papa Pablo VI nos dice respecto al diablo, que debemos evitar dos extremos.  El primer extremo es la
negación de la existencia el diablo.  De
hecho, ésta es una de las tácticas del diablo, hacer creer a la gente que él no
existe.  El otro extremo sería dar demasiada importancia al diablo.  Hay
personas que son alarmistas y temerosos, hablan más del poder del diablo que la
omnipotencia de Dios.  ¡Evitemos estos
dos extremos!

¡Armas espirituales para vencer al diablo!

¡VIGILANCIA!  Permanezcan alertas, despiertos y recen, para
que no sean puestos a prueba y para que no sean vencidos por las tentaciones
del diablo.  Esta fue la razón por la
cual los apóstoles cayeron, por la cual abandonaron a Jesús en el huerto — no
se mantuvieron despiertos en la oración.

CUANDO LLEGUE LA TENTACIÓN – ¡IDENTIFÍCALA Y VÉNCELA!  
Cuando llaga la tentación, puede ser muy útil, simplemente admitirlo, de
manera calmada decir:  «Me está
tentando el enemigo de Dios!» 
¡Nómbrala (dale nombre a la tentación)! 
¡Reconócela!  ¡Y domínala!  La mitad de la batalla está ganada cuando se
reconoce que el enemigo está atacando! 
Porque de lo contrario, ignorar la presencia del enemigo puede aumentar
su poder sobre nosotros!

EVITAR LA OCASIÓN PRÓXIMA DEL PECADO — A menudo somos tentados
porque nos ponemos en la zona del peligro.  
¡Recuerde los numerosos dichos! 
«No juegues con fuego!» y «Quien mal anda, mal acaba!»,
«Mal camino, no puede ir a buen lugar!»  Finalmente, «al mal vivir, mal
morir!»   Una de las razones del por
qué Eva comió del fruto prohibido fue porque estaba cerca del árbol del cual
Dios le había prohibido comer.

¡ESTADO DE DESOLACIÓN! — Según san
Ignacio, cuando nos encontramos en estado de desolación, nos debemos armar con:
más oración, más meditación, un examen de conciencia (para ver por qué estamos
en desolación) y debemos hacer alguna penitencia adecuada.  ¡Algunos demonios sólo pueden ser expulsados
por medio de la oración y la penitencia!

SACRAMENTALES — El uso adecuado de los sacramentales puede resultar muy eficaz
en la lucha contra el diablo; tres en particular: el escapulario de nuestra
Señora del monte Carmelo, la medalla de san Benito y el AGUA BENDITA.  Santa Teresa de Avila insiste en el uso del
agua bendita para expulsar al diablo de nuestra presencia.  ¿Por qué?  
El diablo, inflado de orgullo, no soporta y odia el agua bendita que es
pequeña y discreta. ¡En un exorcismo, se usa el agua bendita!
JACULATORIAS FERVOROSAS QUE PENETRAN EL CIELO —  Cuando el enemigo nos asalta, una oración
fervorosa, una oración breve y encendida de amor, un jaculatoria puede resultar
provechosa para que el enemigo huya. 
Algunos ejemplos de estas oraciones cortas y poderosas pueden ser:  ¡Jesús, en Tí confío…!   !Dulce corazón de María, se mi
salvación…!  ¡Señor, sálvame…!  ¡Señor ayúdame…!  y por supuesto invoquemos con fe y confianza
los santos nombres de Jesús, María y san José…
¡RECHAZAR INMEDIATAMENTE! — En el
combate espiritual contra la tentación, parte del problema es que actuamos de
forma lenta, con letargo y un animo anémico. 
La gracia de Dios siempre prevalecerá si utilizamos el arma de la
oración.  Pero de igual manera, debemos
unir nuestra voluntad a la gracia y valientemente rechazar la tentación desde
el inicio.  Con frecuencia las
tentaciones nos acorralan porque les abrimos la puerta, y una vez abierta, ¡el
diablo mete la cola y es difícil sacarlo!

PEREZA — Leemos en el diario de santa Faustina que en una ocasión el
diablo frenético rondaba los los pasillos buscando a quien tentar.  Por obediencia a Jesús, santa Faustina le
pregunta al diablo, cuando le era más fácil tentar, cuál era el mayor peligro
para las mojas, para hacerlas caer.  ¡A
regañadientes el diablo respondió, que era cuando las almas eran indolentes y
perezosas!  Todos hemos escuchado el
refrán: «¡El ocio es la madre de todos los vicios!»  Si no tenemos nada que hacer, el diablo nos
dará mucho que hacer. 

En cuanto concierne a los muchachos del
oratorio, el gran san Juan Bosco le tenía un temor mortal a la temporada de
vacaciones. ¿Por qué?  Porque cuando los
jóvenes tienen mucho tiempo libre, le abren el paso al diablo.  ¡Con qué frecuencia, al pecado lo precede
momentos de pereza y indolencia, horas de ocio o días de descanso!  Nuestra filosofía debería ser la de san
Alberto Hurtado, quien dice:  «Hay
dos lugares para descansar: el cementerio y el cielo.»  El presente es el momento de ocuparnos de
nuestra salvación con temor y temblor. 
Que el lema de san Benito sea el nuestro: «Ora y Labora…» — que significa, «¡Ora y trabaja!!!»

JESÚS NUESTRO MODELO POR EXCELENCIA:  Jesús en el desierto – ¡Sus 3 armas! — Desde luego, el ejemplo por excelencia es nuestro Señor
Jesús, quien dijo: «Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida».  Al final de los cuarenta días en el desierto,
el diablo vino a tentarlo.  Jesús con
fuerza y facilidad venció al diablo empleando tres armas.  Igual debemos aprender a emplearlas, y son:
la oración, el ayuno y la Palabra de Dios. 
En el desierto Jesús tuvo una vivencia de oración prolongada.  Jesús unió a esta oración el ayuno, en donde
por cuarenta días no comió nada.  Al
final de este tiempo, el diablo tentó a Jesús con la Palabra de Dios; Jesús
usando también la Palabra de Dios como flecha de cuchilla afilada, perforó  y destrozó los esfuerzos de Satanás.  Una prolongada oración ferviente, una constante
abnegación y conocer, meditar y poner en práctica la Palabra de Dios, son armas
eficaces para combatir y vencer a Satanás. 

TRANSPARENCIA con su director espiritual—  Una vez más, el maestro, san Ignacio, ¡acude
al rescate!  En la decimatercera Regla de
Discernimiento, el santo nos advierte que el diablo ansia el secretismo y la
clandestinidad.  Si el alma está en un
estado profundo de desolación, el abrirse a su director espiritual puede ser de
ayuda para vencer la tentación.  Si se
encierra en si mismo, es como tapar una llaga o herida con un curita. No es
hasta que se expone la herida al sol y que se aplica un antiséptico que se
cura, porque de lo contrario la llaga empeora, con gangrena o peor aun llegar
al grado de amputación.  Una vez que se
revela la tentación a un director espiritual capaz, se vence la tentación.  Veamos un relato de la vida de santa
Teresita.  Poco antes de profesar sus
votos, santa Teresita se encontraba abrumada por tentaciones, llena de dudas y
confusión, santa Teresita le reveló el estado de su alma a su superiora y
maestra de novicias.  Casi inmediatamente
la tentación desapareció, hizo sus votos y pasó a ser una de las más grandes
santas hoy día.  ¿Qué hubiese sucedido si
hubiese seguido el consejo del enemigo y hubiese mantenido en secreto el estado
de su alma?  Sin duda, no tendríamos a
santa Teresita de Lisieux, Doctora de la Iglesia

SAN MIGUEL ARCÁNGEL — En nuestra batalla contra Satanás, debemos utilizar todas las
armas en nuestro arsenal.  Dios escogió a
san Miguel Arcángel como el ángel fiel, príncipe de la milicia celestial, para
arrojar al infierno a Satanás y a los ángeles rebeldes. San Miguel, cuyo nombre
significa, «Quién como Dios», es igual de poderoso hoy como
ayer.  En medio una tempestad de
tentaciones, ¿por qué no levantar el corazón a san Miguel e invocarle?  Recemos la famosa plegaria:  «San Miguel Arcángel, defiéndenos en la

batalla…»  ¡O simplemente acuda a su
intercesión!  Desde las alturas del
cielo, la protección de san Miguel le ayudará a ser vencedor en el combate
contra el diablo.

 MARIA SANTISIMA. Como pueblo, los
mexicanos tienen una gran devoción a María, especialmente bajo el nombre de
nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.  Pero en
Guadalajara, México, además de venerar a María como nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
(Patrona de México y las Américas), también la honran con el nombre de:
«¡La Generala del Ejercito»! 
En nuestra lucha contra la serpiente antigua, en Génesis, capítulo 3,
versículo 15, se le rinde homenaje a la mujer que aplasta la cabeza de la
serpiente.  «Pondré enemistad entre
ti y la mujer entre su descendencia y la tuya; 
Ella te pisará la cabeza, mientras tú herirás su talón.»(Gen
3:15)  De hecho la serpiente antigua, el
diablo, puede tirar hacia nosotros con su lengua venenosa, pero con plena
confianza en María, sabemos que ella aplastará su cabeza. ¡Viva Cristo
Rey!  ¡Viva la Virgen de Guadalupe!
