1. El pecado es como una bola de nieve que cae desde la cima de una enorme montaña y que va tomando velocidad e impulso hasta que se estrella en el fondo y se destruye. En verdad el pecado es como una bomba atómica, ¡es auto-destructivo!
2. El ser humano, sin la presencia de Dios en su vida, es capaz de los pecados más despreciables y atroces. Por esta razón, santa Teresa de Ávila decía “sin Dios, no debemos sorprendernos de lo que hacemos, sino de lo que no hacemos” Es decir, sin Dios somos capaces de cometer pecados inimaginables. Así sucedió con el pecado de Sodoma y Gomorra.
3. Sodoma y Gomorra eran dos grandes ciudades con mucho dinero y riqueza. La gente, muy parecida a las de los tiempos de Noé y la Torre de Babel, eran ajenos a la presencia de Dios.
4. SENSUALIDAD. Los habitantes de Sodoma y Gomorra no sólo habían dado rienda suelta a sus más bajas pasiones, sino también a las prácticas más pervertidas y degeneradas – la práctica de la homosexualidad y sodomía.
5. LOT Y SUS INVITADOS. Lot había aceptado en su casa a dos huéspedes- que en realidad eran ángeles con la apariencia de jóvenes sumamente atractivos.
6. ¡PERVERSIÓN AL MÁXIMO! En cuanto se enteran los habitantes de estas ciudades de la presencia de estos “huéspedes atractivos”, fijan sus mentes y corazones en una sola cosa – en tener placeres sexuales con ellos.
7. ¡INVADEN LA CASA DE LOT! Estos hombres, con intenciones perversas, golpean violentamente a la puerta de Lot insistiendo que les entregara a los huéspedes para que pudieran satisfacer sus detestables deseos. Lot incluso les ofrece a sus propias hijas.
8, ¡ENFURECIDOS! Enfurecidos tratan de tumbar la puerta de la casa de Lot. Los ángeles los confrontan y los ciegan.
9. ¡HUYEN POR SU VIDA! Dios manda a Lot y a su familia que huyan para salvar sus vidas. Lot se resiste pero los ángeles lo obligan a que salga de su casa. Dios les ordena no mirar atrás.
10. DESOBEDIENCIA. La esposa de Lot voltea hacia atrás y Dios la castiga convirtiéndola en una estatua de sal.
11. CASTIGO Y DESTRUCCIÓN TOTAL. En castigo por la práctica explícita de la sodomía (homosexualidad), Dios hace caer del cielo azufre y fuego para destruir las dos ciudades y a todos sus habitantes. ¡Esta es la perspectiva de Dios sobre este pecado!
12. Recuerde las palabras de Jesús en las Bienaventuranzas: “Dichosos los puros de corazón porque verán a Dios.” (Mateo 5:8)
