AMISTAD CON JESUS, EL MEJOR AMIGO





No hay mejor objetivo, búsqueda o empresa que
crecer en amistad con Jesús nuestro Señor.  
Muchos se dedican a la búsqueda de cosas meramente mundanas que ocupan
tiempo, esfuerzo, dinero, sangre, sudor y lagrimas.  Sin embargo esto termina en tristeza, desengaño
y derrota.





Buscar de todo corazón una amistad con Jesús  satisface los anhelos más sublimes del corazón
humano.  Un gran converso que por más de 30 años buscó la felicidad en el placer, la
sensualidad y la mundanalidad, llegó a encontrar la verdadera  felicidad en Jesús. En sus Confesiones
afirma, “O Señor  has hecho nuestro corazón
para Ti’ y nuestro corazón está
inquieto hasta que descanse en Tí.” ¿Cómo se puede crecer en amistad con Jesús?



1.   EVITAR  EL PECADO. Comenzaremos con lo negativo.
Como en cualquier amistad, debemos formar el firme propósito de evitar
todo lo que la dañe, hiera o rompa. El
pecado daña, debilita, y enfría nuestra amistad con Jesús.  Y si es pecado mortal, l’amistad se CORTA y
ROMPE.  En esta amistad con Jesús,
nuestro mayor enemigo es el pecado. 
Domingo Savio en su propósito de Primera Comunión firmemente declaró – ¡Jesús es mi mejor amigo, la
muerte antes que pecar!













2.   CONÓCELO. El sentido común nos enseña que no podemos amar a quien no
conocemos.  Es lo mismo en nuestra relación
con Jesús:  ¡debemos de llegar a conocer
a Jesús!   ¿Cuál es la mejor forma?   ¡Los Evangelios!  Los cuatro Evangelios son el  “corazón de la Biblia”, precisamente porque
nos dan ha saber quien es Jesús.  Los
Evangelios contienen las propias palabras de Jesús,  Sus milagros, Su ejemplo, Sus sanaciones, Su
amor por nosotros al morir en la cruz y Su resurrección al tercer día.  Cada día que pasa, debemos tener el Evangelio
en nuestras manos.  Debemos rezar antes
de leer, meditar devotamente, asimilar el contenido, vivirlo y dejar que el
Evangelio nos transforme.  San Jerónimo
dijo, “¡ignorancia
de la Escritura es ignorancia de Cristo!”  
¡Que afortunados  somos de poder
leer, de tener acceso a los Evangelios y de tener maestros que nos enseñen a meditar estos sagrados textos!





3.   COMUNIÓN  ESPIRITUAL.  La practica de una “Comunión Espiritual”  es altamente recomendada por los santos
—  especialmente por San Alfonso
Ligorio y el Papa Benedicto XVI en su documento “Sacramentum Caritatis.”  Uno puede hacer todas las  comuniones espirituales que uno desee.  Efectivamente, es una excelente manera de
mantener el amor por Jesús ardiente en nuestros corazones. 




4.   VISITAS EUCARÍSTICAS:  ¡El ser sacerdote o religiosa tiene muchas
bendiciones especiales!  ¡Una de estas
bendiciones es vivir bajo el mismo techo con el Santísimo Sacramento!   Pero aún si la persona no es sacerdote o
religiosa,  Jesús esta siempre esperando
que tú
lo visites en el Santísimo Sacramento, en el Sagrario.  Él sufre de soledad y anhela que tú lo visites.  Él mismo dice:  “Vengan a Mí los que estén agobiados que yo los aliviaré… “ (Mt 11:28-30).   De niño me acuerdo haber aprendido este
corto poema:  “Cada vez que veo un
templo, paro para visitar un momento, para que cuando yo muera el Señor no diga
– “¿A quién es que Yo contemplo?”








5.  HORA SANTA. Aún mejor, ¿Por qué no hacer una Hora
Santa?  ¡Una breve visita está bien, pero una visita más larga es mejor!  Los verdaderos amigos desean pasar largos
tiempos juntos.  ¡Fácilmente vemos una película,
vamos a juego de beisbol, vemos una telenovela, vamos al centro comercial para
ver de tienda en tienda hasta que “el cuerpo aguante!”  ¡La noche antes del “Viernes Negro” miles en
todo el país, duermen afuera de la tienda para comprar!   ¡Que
insignificante es este afán de comprar en comparación con estar en presencia de
Jesús,  el mejor de los Amigos.  Si nunca ha hecho una Hora Santa, traiga consigo
tres cosas que le ayuden:  la Biblia, el
Rosario y un libro de oración.  Con la
Biblia, puede meditar la palabra de Dios, con el Rosario hable con Jesús por
medio de María, con el libro de oración (usando la  oración vocal formal), puede hablar con Jesús,
María, los Ángeles y los santos.  Cuando
esté
ante el Santísimo, puede levantar la mirada y contemplar a Jesús, hablar con Él de corazón a corazón, amarle,
agradecerle, adorarle, pedirle alguna gracia, hablar con Él de lo esté pensando, o simplemente descansar
silenciosamente en Su presencia cálida y amorosa.  El Venerable Fulton Sheen le llamaba “ la
Hora Diaria de Poder”





6.  LA SANTA MISA Y LA SANTA COMUNIÓN: 
Sin duda alguna, la mejor acción que podemos hacer en nuestra vida es
asistir al Santo Sacrificio de la Misa y recibir el fruto sublime de la Misa,
la Santa Comunión.  La Santa Comunión es
verdaderamente el Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma, y Divinidad de nuestro Señor Jesús.  Los ángeles del cielo nos miran con santa
envidia, en cuanto a la Sagrada Comunión. 
Porque a pesar de que todos ellos son superiores a nosotros en
inteligencia, poder de voluntad y en amor a Dios, ni el ángel más alto del cielo
puede recibir en su ser a Jesús en la Sagrada Comunión.  Nuestra santificación depende grandemente en
la frecuencia, la disposición, y la manera que recibimos la Sagrada Comunión.   Nuestra disposición debe ser la
siguiente:  “¡Jesús, que hoy yo te reciba
en la Santa Comunión como si fuese mi Primera Comunión, mi última Comunión,  y mi única Comunión, y la Comunión con que seré juzgado por toda la
eternidad!  Con esta disposición, nuestra
Comunión aumentara’ en fervor, frecuencia y fecundidad y poco a poco nos
transformará
en santos – “Ya no soy yo quién vive sino Cristo quien vive en mí” (San Pablo)




7.   LECTURA Y ESTUDIO SOBRE LA EUCARISTÍA :  
Nunca hemos vivido en un mundo con tanta información,  y al mismo tiempo con tanta confusión.  ¡Vivimos en la “Edad Dorada” de la literatura
espiritual clásica!  ¿Dónde podemos
comenzar?  El Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, 
el Diario de Santa Faustina
(cuarto libro),  La Imitación de Cristo escrito por Tomás Kempis (cuarto libro), La Eucaristía del Padre Lovasik, las encíclicas
del Papa Juan Pablo II sobre la Eucaristía, 
Sacramentum Caritatis de
Benedicto XVI, la Constitución Dogmática del Vaticano II sobre la Sagrada
Liturgia, “Sacrosanctum concilium”, o
aún cualquiera de los pequeños libros sobre la Misa y la Eucaristía escritos
por Peter Julian Eymard.  La literatura
es interminable, pero empiece con uno de estos materiales o consulte a su
director espiritual.





8.  APOSTOL EUCARÍSTICO. Cuando verdaderamente amamos a alguien o
algo, se nos hace dilación contarle a otros de esa persona o cosa.  Cuando Andrés conoce a Jesús y lo ama,  él no pudo quedarse con Jesús para si’ mismo,
él
corrió  con su hermano Simón Pedro y le contó.  Aquí empezó una larga y creciente amistad
entre Jesús y Simón Pedro, a pesar de la caída y debilidad humana de Pedro.  Definitivamente, debería  ser nuestro más ardiente deseo que otros
también conozcan, amen y sigan a Jesús. 
Hoy en día, muchos están como ovejas sin pastor, barco sin puerto,
flecha sin destino, mascota sin amo,  gallina sin cabeza, o incluso como el perro
que persigue su cola.  El libro de Jonás
concluye con estas palabras: “estas personas no saben discernir entre su mano
derecha y su mano izquierda.”  La
confusión abunda simplemente debido a la falta de conocimiento y amor a Jesús.  Haz un firme propósito de llevar a Jesús a
otros y otros a Jesús.  




9.  REPARACIÓN.
Hace cientos de años en un convento en Francia, Jesús le dice a Santa
Margaret Mary Aloqoque, “he aquí el corazón que tanto ha amado y sólo recibe a
cambio indiferencia.”  Jesús sufre por la
indiferencia y apatía hacia su amor.  Aún
más hoy en día, la ignorancia, la indiferencia y la apatía reinan.  Jesús sufre enormemente debido a la
indiferencia religiosa; nos advierte en el libro de Apocalipsis “Estás ni
caliente ni frío – ¡ojala’ fueses frío o caliente!– pero estás tibio, te
vomitaré
de mi boca.  Debido a esta indiferencia
tan esparcida hacia Jesús en la Eucaristía, debemos hacer reparación al igual
que consolar el corazón sufriente de Jesús.  
¿Cómo?  ¡La mejor manera es
ofrecer la Santa Comunión  y ofrecer
Misas de reparación!




10MARIA Y LA EUCARISTIA.  Acude seguido a la Santísima Virgen María y
pídele su poderosa intercesión para que crezcas en amistad con Jesús.  En el mundo no ha habido amistad más tierna,
amorosa, íntima,
profunda y fiel que con la Santísima Virgen María.  Empezando hoy, nuestra amistad con Jesús debe
de aumentar.  Tal vez en el pasado
nuestra relación con Jesús ha sido como una montaña rusa, con altos y bajos, días
buenos y días malos, fidelidad y fallas. 
Pero con la Virgen María no fue así. 
La relación entre Jesús y su Madre María se puede comparar con un cohete
que despega hacia la luna.  Sube, sube,
sube y siguió subiendo.  Nunca hacia
bajo.  El amor y amistad entre Jesús y
María siempre fue en aumento.   Es por
esta razón que podemos acudir a la Santísima Virgen para que seamos como un
“cohete” y no como una montaña rusa.
