AMISTAD ESPIRITUAL: DE HECHO UNA PERLA PRECIOSA!

¿Santiago y Juan, Pedro y Andrés, Benito y Escolástica, Mónica y Agustín, Francisco y Clara, Teresa de Ávila y Juan de la Cruz, Juan Bosco y Dominico Sabio, Margarita María y Claude de la Colombiere, Basilio y Gregorio—qué tienen en común, cuál es el tejido que tienen en común?  Todos fueron santos y se ayudaron mutuamente—como amigos espirituales–para lograr la verdadera santidad de la vida. La Biblia dice que encontrar a un verdadero amigo es en verdad un tesoro, una perla de precio infinito.   Jesús vino al mundo como uno de nosotros, pero muy cercano a nosotros, siendo Dios y hombre. Incluso dijo en la última cena, «les llamo amigos…»  Por lo tanto, ¿cuáles son verdaderos signos de una auténtica «amistad espiritual» y cuáles son los beneficios? Vamos a profundizar!


1. JESÚS EL VERDADERO AMIGO.   A fin de establecer una verdadera amistad espiritual, debe haber un «Tercer» amigo en ese dúo; ese «amigo» es Jesucristo.  Él es, ese amigo verdadero y fiel que nunca nos fallará.   Entre más profunda y más sincera es la amistad con Jesús, mas profundo Él, puede establecer un “amistad espiritual” entre nosotros.

2. ORACIÓN MUTUA.  Verdaderos amigos deben orar constantemente y mutuamente, uno para el otro. De hecho el mejor regalo que podemos dar a otro es, la oración!

3. COPARTICIPACIÓN EN LOS TESOROS ESPIRITUALES.   San Ignacio de Loyola en los ejercicios espirituales, el último ejercicio que es «La contemplación para alcanzar el amor», comenta sobre este punto. «Amor consiste en un mutuo intercambio de pertenencias, por ejemplo, el amante da y comparte con el amado lo que posee, o algo que tiene o es capaz de dar; y viceversa, el amado comparte con la amada.  Por lo tanto, si uno tiene conocimiento, el comparte con quien no lo posee y así también si uno tiene honores y riquezas.  Así, uno siempre da a los demás».  (Ejercicios espirituales de San Ignacio de Loyola, # 231: la contemplación para alcanzar el amor).

4. PRINCIPALMENTE TESOROS ESPIRITUALES.    Dar es parte de la amistad; Sin embargo, la prioridad debe darse, a la de los tesoros espirituales. Santo Tomás de Aquino perspicazmente observa que al dar en el ámbito material, el que da, se empobrece. Sin embargo, dar en el ámbito espiritual, ambos el dador y el receptor quedan enriquecidos!  Por lo tanto, dar, pero dar aún más espiritualmente!

5. DESTRUCTOR DE LA AMISTAD!   Buenos amigos pueden convertirse en archienemigos si alguno de los dos, le permite el diablo de la envidia, insinuar su fea cabeza en el medio.  Aplaste la cabeza fea del Diablo, el enemigo por el regocijo del éxito, de su amigo.  Deja que las palabras de San Pablo sea su fuerza vinculante: «Debemos llorar con los que lloran y alegrarnos con los que se alegran».
6. CORRECCIÓN FRATERNAL.  Aunque es difícil, aunque es arriesgada, aunque sea delicado, la corrección fraternal  es necesaria en la verdadera «amistad espiritual».  Si un verdadero amigo esta consciente de que su amigo esta caminando hacia un precipicio espiritual, a punto de ser quemados por el fuego, a punto de ser atacados por lobos voraces, entonces él debe de hablar!   Los médicos están todos de acuerdo con la «medicina preventiva, es mejor que la medicina curativa».

7. DESEO DE SER CORREGIDO.   En humildad, debe decirse, que quien corrige debe estar también dispuesto a ser corregido!  Sólo Dios es perfecto!

8. NO AMIGO EN LAS MALAS.   Un verdadero amigo estará allí en los buenos tiempos como en los malos tiempos.  Él está ahí en la fiesta, así también como en el funeral.  Esta allí cuando el sol brilla y los pájaros cantan y las flores exudan aroma fragante.  Sin embargo, el esta también en el funeral, los días nublados y oscuros, en el interminable túnel donde la luz no aparece visible.  Un verdadero amigo, es fiel a la promesa como los cónyuges, en el día de su boda: «me comprometo a ser fiel a ti en los buenos tiempos y malos, salud y enfermedad,  riqueza y pobreza, hasta que la muerte nos separe.»

9. LOS CÓNYUGES/PAREJAS CASADAS.  Santo Tomás de Aquino afirma que en el plano humano, los cónyuges casados deben ser los mejores amigos. Puede ser el caso!  La vocación matrimonial es una vocación que debe conducir a la santificación, crecimiento en la santidad y el cielo. La última elección del futuro cónyuge debe ser el siguiente: esta persona va a ser mi mejor amigo espiritual, compañero de toda una vida, el cual yo valore y le ayude, a ser un puente y una escalera al cielo.   Tal vez un ideal elevado, pero nosotros debemos aspirar alto!!!!

10. MISERICORDIA.  Los verdaderos amigos espirituales están siempre dispuestos a perdonar las debilidades, limitaciones y errores de los demás. En una palabra, estar dispuesta a perdonar  70 veces 7. «Ser misericordioso como su Padre Celestial es Misericordioso».

De primordial importancia, la ventaja de buscar, establecer y cultivar una verdadera «Amistad Espiritual» es que ambos amigos sirvan como puentes sólidos, para unirse con el «Mejor de todos los amigos» que es Jesús, el Señor.  Él dijo, «Yo no te llamo siervos, sino amigos….»  que Dios nos proporcione una AMISTAD espiritual solida en esta vida, para ser un trampolín para unirnos con los Santos en el cielo—nuestro destino final. El Cielo es amistad, con los Ángeles, los Santos, la Santísima Madre y con el Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo.
