LA SANTISIMA TRINIDAD

Es necesario usar analogías y comparaciones para entender verdades sublimes.  Aún así, nos quedamos cortos de la realidad.  ¿Por qué?  Porque Dios es infinito, eterno, infinitamente superior a la comprensión del intelecto humano.  El ser humano con sus limitaciones nunca podrá entender completamente.  Debemos recordar las palabras de san Anselmo: «La fe busca entendimiento».  Por consiguiente, se presentarán algunas analogías simples para dar un poco de luz al misterio sublime de la Santísima Trinidad — nuestra fe en un solo Dios, pero tres personas distintas: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo.

  1. SAN PATRICIO Y EL TRÉBOL DE TRES HOJAS.  San Patricio, el gran misionero inglés, fue a Irlanda y usó el »trébol de tres hojas» para explicar la Santísima Trinidad.   Esta es la analogía:  El trébol es uno, pero brotan tres hojas separadas.  Asimismo, nuestro Dios es uno, pero hay tres personas distintas: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo.
  2. H20.   La composición química del agua es H20.  Sin embargo, cuando se expone a diferentes condiciones climáticas la forma cambia.  A temperatura ambiente, tenemos agua. Cuando se calienta hasta un punto de ebullición, tenemos vapor.  Cuando esta composición química está expuesta a temperaturas de congelación, el agua se solidifica y se hace hielo. La misma composición química pero tres manifestaciones diferentes.  ¡Nuestro Dios es uno en naturaleza, pero tres personas distintas!
  3. TRES CERILLOS SE PRENDEN Y SE UNEN.   ¡Intente esto!  Tome 3 cerillos.  Prenda los 3 cerillos.  Júntelos y una la llama.  ¿Qué se ve?  Hay tres cerillos distintos, pero una sola llama.  En la Trinidad creemos en un Dios, pero tres distintas Personas: el Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo.
  4. TRIÁNGULO EQUILÁTERO. Imagínese un triángulo equilátero. Es un solo triángulo con tres ángulos iguales.
  5. Yo me llamo: Claude Edward Broom, III.  El nombre de mi abuelo es Claude Edward Broom (padre), el nombre de mi padre es Claude Edward Broom, (hijo), y yo me llamo Claude Edward Broom, (nieto).  ¡Todos tenemos el mismo apellido, pero somos tres personas distintas!   ¡Una situación única!

RECORDATORIOS DE LA TRINIDAD: LA SEÑAL DE LA CRUZ

La señal de la cruz trae a la mente dos verdades fundamentales de gran valor: el misterio de la Santísima Trinidad y la manifestación del gran amor de Jesús al morir en la cruz por la humanidad total e individual.

  1. AL DESPERTAR.  Al despertar debemos hacer la señal de la cruz.  Igual debemos tener presente que por el bautismo somos templos vivos de la Santísima Trinidad y que hemos sido redimidos por la Sangre del Cordero de Dios que quita el pecado del mundo.
  2. LA SANTA MISA.  Preste atención a las varias veces que se hace referencia a la Santísima Trinidad durante la celebración de la Misa.  Por cierto, el fin o propósito de la Santa Misa es Trinitario.  En cada Misa, se ofrece a Jesús (la segunda Persona de la Santísima Trinidad) a Dios Padre como sacrificio, Víctima, holocausto incruento (o sea, sin derramamiento de sangre).  Se ofrece a Jesús al Padre por la salvación del mundo por el poder del Espíritu Santo.
  3. VARIAS PARTES DE LA MISA.   La Misa comienza con el sacerdote persignándose y trayendo a la mente la Trinidad.  Entre los diversos saludos, el saludo Paulino es Trinitario (tomado de una de las cartas de San Pablo): «La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el amor de Dios Padre y la comunión del Espíritu Santo esté con todos ustedes.»  La DOXOLOGÍA es una alabanza trinitaria eucarística, que el sacerdote puede hacer de forma hablada o cantada: «Por Cristo, con Él y en Él, a Tí Dios Padre omnipotente, en la unidad del Espíritu Santo, todo honor y toda gloria por los siglos de los siglos.  Amen.»
  4. DESPEDIDA Y ENVÍO.   Con la bendición Trinitaria y con el envío de los fieles a ser misioneros por todo el mundo, la Misa concluye: «La bendición de Dios Todopoderoso, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, descienda sobre vosotros y permanezca para siempre. Amen».   ¡Podéis ir en paz!
  5. AGUA BENDITA: BAUTISMO Y TRINIDAD. Al entrar a la Iglesia debemos acercarnos a la pila bautismal con respeto reverencial y suavemente tomar el agua bendita en los dedos y hacer la señal de la Cruz.  Debemos traer a la mente el día de nuestro propio bautismo. (Por cierto todos deberíamos saber el día de nuestro bautismo).  Con este gesto también debemos tener presente la realidad que la Trinidad inhabita en nuestra alma, nuestra mente, ¡nuestro corazón y en nuestra vida!  Hagamos un himno de alabanza y agradecimiento por nuestro bautismo.
  6. AGUA BENDITA EN CASA.  Es una tradición piadosa y loable tener en el hogar una botella de agua bendita.  Mejor aún, por qué no tener en cada habitación una pequeña botella de agua bendita.
  7. EN TENTACIÓN.  Cuando el diablo nos agrede con alguna tentación, debemos rápidamente recurrir al Santo Nombre de Jesús, María y José.  Igual debemos persignarnos con agua bendita en el nombre de la Santísima Trinidad.  Rece esta oración: «Espíritu malo, te ordeno en nombre de la Santísima Trinidad, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo que te alejes de mí y de esta casa.  Amén»
  8. PADRES DE FAMILIA: EL PADRE. Al sacerdote lo llamamos «Padre» porque él es nuestro padre espiritual.  Sin embargo, en la familia el padre también está llamado a ser el sacerdote de su familia.  Una de los oficios principales del sacerdote es bendecir en nombre de la Santísima Trinidad.  El padre de familia –el sacerdote de la familia– puede y debe bendecir a los miembros de su familia y si es posible todas las noches después de terminar las oraciones con miembros de su familia.  Debe bendecirlos con agua bendita en el nombre de la Trinidad.
  9. ORACIÓN ESPONTÁNEA.  En el transcurso del día, es un hermoso hábito entrar en el silencio del alma y decirle a la Santísima Trinidad – Santísima Trinidad te amo, quiero amarte más, quiero alabarte por siempre en el cielo – al Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo.
  10. MARÍA Y LA TRINIDAD.  La Santísima Virgen María ocupa un lugar privilegiado en el corazón de la Santísima Trinidad.  María es la hija de Dios Padre; María es la madre de Dios Hijo y esposa mística de Dios Espíritu Santo. ¡Por qué no pedirle a María una unión más íntima y constante con la Santísima Trinidad!


    El padre Ed Broom, OMV (Oblato de la Virgen María), conocido también como Padre Escobita, fue ordenado sacerdote por san Juan Pablo II en 1986. Es asistente del párroco en la Iglesia de San Pedro Chanel en Hawaiian Gardens (California). Allí imparte retiros, da los Ejercicios Espirituales de San Ignacio de Loyola, organiza y dirige su propio programa de radio y televisión en Guadalupe Radio –Barriendo Conciencias.
