San Agustín, santa María Magdalena, santa Margarita de Cortona (conocida como la »segunda Magdalena») tenían esto en común — eran esclavos a los deseos de la carne y la sexualidad.
La esclavitud era tan abrumadora, que la oración de Agustín era: »Señor concédeme la virtud de la pureza, ¡pero hoy no!»
No hace falta ser genio o saber latín para saber que la adicción más grande en el mundo moderno es alguna forma de aberración sexual. La fornicación, la masturbación, la pornografía, el adulterio, el divorcio, la legalización desenfrenada a la práctica de la homosexualidad, se ha expandido de forma imponente, la sociedad se ha acostumbrado y vuelto insensible a ello, da lo mismo lo bueno que lo malo.
LA PALABRA DE DIOS Y LOS MANDAMIENTOS. Aunque la sociedad moderna promueva esta libertad falsa, el libertinaje, la Palabra de Dios y los diez Mandamientos siguen siendo viables y lo serán hasta el fin del los tiempos.
Dos de los diez mandamientos tratan explícitamente la importante virtud de pureza: el sexto y noveno mandamiento. El sexto mandamiento de la ley de Dios es: »No cometerás adulterio.» Y el noveno »No desearás la mujer de otro.»
En el blog anterior (Combatir para alcanzar pureza de corazón -1.ª PARTE) delineamos cinco practicas concretas para combatir y alcanzar la virtud de la pureza. En este escrito, se presentarán cinco estrategias espirituales.
1. LA SANTA EUCARISTÍA. Indiscutiblemente, el medio más eficaz para alcanzar cualquier virtud, y en particular la virtud de la pureza, es por medio de la recepción frecuente, fervorosa y llena de fe, del más grande Sacramento, la Santa Eucaristía. La Eucaristía es verdaderamente y sustancialmente el Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad de Jesucristo, nuestro Señor y Salvador. Cuando recibimos la Santa Eucaristía, el Cuerpo y la Preciosa Sangre de Jesús circulan por nuestras venas directamente a nuestro corazón. En verdad, con cada Santa Comunión, recibimos un »transplante de corazón». Jesús, nos da voluntariamente su sacratísimo Corazón para reemplazar el nuestro. ¡Se realiza un transplante de corazón! San Juan Bosco celosamente animaba a los jóvenes del oratorio a que comulgaran con la mayor frecuencia posible, y por supuesto, con la debida disposición y recogimiento. La Santa Eucaristía apaga la concupiscencia y el fuego lujurioso de las pasiones!
2. EL TRABAJO. »El ocio es el taller del diablo.» Si no tenemos nada que hacer, el diablo nos dará mucho qué hacer, especialmente cosas que tienen que ver con la impureza. San Buenaventura decia: »Cuando estamos ocupados con nuestro trabajo, sólo un diablo va tras nosotros; pero cuando no tenemos nada que hacer, un ejército de diablos nos asaltan.» San Juan Bosco, temía por sus jóvenes en los tiempos de vacaciones. ¿Por qué? ¡Por el tiempo libre que tenían los muchachos tenían en los meses de verano! El santo decía que el tiempo de vacaciones era tiempo de cosecha para el diablo. Cuando hay un hombre joven con tiempo libre, tiene un diablo a su lado, y esto lo lleva directamente al pecado contra la castidad. El diablo hoy asoma su horrible rostro a través de la pornografía en el internet.
3. UN CORAZÓN GOZOSO. San Francisco de Sales y muchos santos han dicho en forma unánime, que el pecado engendra depresión y tristeza. San Ignacio de Loyola nos advierte, que cuando el alma está en estado de desolación – triste, deprimida, con desánimo, espiritualmente con pocas fuerzas – es entonces que el diablo ataca. Debemos siempre pedir al Espíritu Santo que nos de gozo; que nuestro semblante radie el gozo del corazón. ¡Dios nos manda a que tengamos un corazón gozoso! Recordemos las palabras de san Pablo a los Filipenses: »Estad siempre alegres en el Señor; os lo repito, estad alegres.» (Flp 4, 4) Un corazón gozoso lanza al los diablos de impureza al fuego ardiente.
4. EL SACRAMENTO DE LA CONFESIÓN. La Biblia nos dice, que el hombre justo cae siete veces al día. Si caemos en pecado de impureza, no debemos desalentarnos, debemos arrepentirnos inmediatamente y confiar en la misericordia de Dios. Según el beato Papa Juan Pablo II y santa Faustina Kowalska, el atributo más grande (virtud) del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús es su infinita ¡MISERICORDIA. Jesús vino al mundo, sufrió, murió y resucitó de entre los muerto para salvar al mundo de la realidad del pecado, y por cada uno de nosotros. El sacramento de la Confesión sana el alma de la impureza e infunde en el alma la gracia para pelear la buena pelea, y correr la carrera y ganar la corona inmortal de la victoria. El diablo no se cansa de desanimarnos. Pero el Espíritu Santo nos anima, para que nos pongamos de pie y lo intentemos otra vez, como lo vemos de forma elocuente en la Parábola del hijo prodigo, o mejor dicho, la Parábola de Padre misericordioso.
5. LA PALABRA DE DIOS. Cuando vemos malas imágenes se queda un residuo tóxico en nuestra mente. Y estas imágenes no se borran de la noche a la mañana. Porque somos débiles pero Dios es siempre omnipotente y todopoderoso. El conocido converso, Steve Wood, que ahora se dedica a escribir, es conferencista e imparte temas sobre la defensa de la familia, la santificación de los hombres, la lucha contra la adicción a la pornografía. Steve Wood insiste en lo importante que es la lectura, la meditación y de aprenderse de memoria la Palabra de Dios. Veamos una analogía. Lo que hace el cloro a una alberca, la Palabra de Dios hace a la memoria. Como el cloro purifica y mata bacteria, la Palabra de Dios deshace, limpia y purifica la memoria de las malas imágenes. San Pablo compara la Palabra de Dios a una espada de doble filo, que separa médula de hueso. La Palabra de Dios, separa las malas imágenes de la memoria y las elimina. Que Nuestra Señora, la purísima Virgen María, nos alcance con su Inmaculado Corazón la virtud de la pureza. »Dichosos los puros de corazón, porque verán a Dios.» (Mt 5:8)
