The Joker’s real identity was revealed in Folie à Deux’s ‘brutal ending’ – and it’s
not who you think.
Identity confusion is the theme throughout the entire film,
as the title suggests, but the ending of the second instalment
may leave some fans surprised.
Following on from 2019’s psychological thriller from director Todd Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix reprises
his role as clown Arthur Fleck who has descended into mental illness.
Folie à Deux begins with Arthur behind bars in Arkham Asylum, waiting to see whether he will be judged sane enough
to stand trial for the murders he committed two years prior.
In the meantime he is enjoying his celebrity status with fellow prisoners and
even the warders, one of whom, a sadistic Irishman played by Brendan Gleeson, feeds him cigarettes in return for jokes.

Eventually, after Arthur’s high-profile

by Steve Coogan, it is time for the trial, with
all of Gotham gripped by the subject of multiple personality disorder.
His lawyer (Catherine Keener) strives to show that Joke is accused of five murders, rather than Arthur. Lee just as urgently wants him to identify as his demonic alter ego.
In the final scenes, Arthur renounces his Joker alter-ego and is found guilty of first-degree murder.
As he is being sentenced a car bomb detonates outside the court, with two
people helping Arthur escape, but he is later caught by the police and taken back to Arkham.
In the Asylum a young patient begins to tell Arthur a joke,
before stabbing him in the stomach and while he bleeds to death, carves a smile into his
own face.
It raises questions surrounding the Joker’s true identity, as it would seem he never went on to become the famed villain, instead he was just the person who inspired the man who eventually became him.

Director Todd, told Entertainment Weekly: ‘When those guards kill that kid
in the [hospital] he realises that dressing up
in makeup, putting on this thing, it’s not changing anything.
‘In some ways, he’s accepted the fact that he’s always been Arthur Fleck;
he’s never been this thing that’s been put upon him,
this idea that Gotham people put on him, that he represents.
‘He’s an unwitting icon. This thing was placed on him, and he doesn’t want to live as a fake anymore
— he wants to be who he is.’
The movie serves as a follow-up to Phoenix’s
2019 box office hit, which was simply titled Joker.
The Todd Phillips-directed musical was released in theatres on October
4, following an October 2 international release.

Transport Minister Catherine King has since committed to a review
of flight bookings by government officials which will be
conducted by the Department of Finance this year,
despite there being just two months left of 2024.
Politicians’ preference for Qantas may also be put down to the airline’s exclusive invite-only ‘Chairman’s Lounge’.

any disproportionate level of influence over the country’s

A Daily Mail Australia audit of the members’ interest registers – in both the House of Representatives
and the Senate – revealed almost 93 per cent of the nation’s leaders have been ‘gifted’ membership to the
lavish, all-inclusive lounge.
The high profile ranks of government giftees include Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as well as every member of his 22-person Cabinet, his seven-person Outer Ministry and
all 12 assistant ministers.

Membership to the club is ‘priceless’ – it cannot be bought for

The insider continued that his six children only have ‘limited’ contact with Brad’s side of the family – but a separate source close to Jolie shared a differing viewpoint on the situation.
‘Angelina has not blocked any communications or relationships;
rather she encourages them to be in touch with their grandparents.’
‘The kids send cards and gifts to their grandparents every year for their
birthdays and Christmas,’ the insider explained to the outlet.
Earlier this month, Angelina attended the 2024 Governors Awards
with son Knox as her guest.
But Brad – who is amidst an ongoing divorce battle with Jolie – found it ‘suspicious’ that Knox made a rare public appearance with his mother on the red carpet.

In August, the biopic first premiered during the 81st Venice International Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion.
The movie had a limited theatrical release in the United States beginning on November 27
– and will drop on Netflix on December 11.

On the topic of Callas being called a diva, Angelina explained to The Times that she has the aim
to change the negative perception towards the word ‘diva.’
‘I’m a hard worker. And a deeply feeling person. Maria is vulnerable because she feels and isn’t sometimes
able to protect herself from the loneliness or emotional pain.’
‘Because it’s part of her life and work to be extremely human and live that way.
You live through your communication with the audience. For
Maria and for me that has always been extremely important,’ the
star said.
Director Pablo Larrain also took part in the interview to discuss the movie – and shared he felt the late opera
singer would have garnered different treatment if she had been a man.
‘She was a strong woman at a time when that wasn’t really
tolerated. But this movie is also an act of respect to her – she was stoic and strong, she
was betrayed but she always stood on her own two feet, trying
to do her art until she couldn’t.’

Its GPU is the Adreno 203 – once more a few rungs below HTC’s more famous One-series phones.
On the other hand, it really should provide enough grunt to
play 3D games like Real Racing 3 fairly well thanks to the phone’s low screen resolution.
Digital camera
Using the HTC Desire 500 you also overlook on the UltraPixel
camera tech HTC launched earlier this season – which gives you larger sensor pixels for significantly better low-light performance.
This cell phone has a pretty standard 8-megapixel camera along with an LED flash.
It ought to produce decent shots in very good lighting, but will not have the low-light performance of
an HTC One-series phone. It also cannot shoot video at resolutions above 720p.
The HTC Desire 500 does have a particularly good front-facing camera,
a 1. 6-megapixel one. This is most likely down to HTC deciding that the Desire 500 will appeal to
a younger audience obsessed with Facebook, selfies and incessant #YOLO’ing.
We’re not particularly bothered about the front-facing camera, but we are a very little sad to see the Desire
500 lose the stereo Boomsound speakers of the HTC One Mini.
Instead, the phone has a mono speaker that sits on the rear.
It does have Beats processing, though, that can significantly improve the
tonality of a teeny phone speaker.
First Impressions
There’s a number of other mobile phones being looked at against the Desire 500,
and while this is not the most exciting video showcasing the new HTC
Desire 500, it does give you a better idea of its size and design.
The HTC Desire 500 seems a solid mid-level phone. Its
CPU isn’t super-powerful despite being quad-core and it
doesn’t have a headline-grabbing camera.
However, we like its software, its hardware design, and
its screen seems to be fairly decent despite some pretty low-end specs.

Either way, identity confusion is the theme of this film,
which keeps being billed as a musical.
‘It’s not, really, although music looms large as an expression of Arthur and Lee’s burgeoning love for one another.
And there are a couple of swooning dance routines that make them look like psychotic versions of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in La La Land (2016).
‘For me, Joker was a near-masterpiece, and while this
