SAN BERNARDO DE CLARAVAL (1090-1153) fue muy querido, amado, imitado y la figura más destacada de la Orden del siglo XII. Cuentan que cuando él pasaba por las calles, las madres atrancaban las puertas y escondían a sus hijos. ¿Por qué? Por el magnetismo de san Bernardo. Sabían que si sus hijos tenía el más mínimo contacto con san Bernardo, se irían de sacerdotes o religiosas.
Uno de los carismas y gracias que san Bernardo recibió, entre muchas, era que atraía a los jóvenes Jesucristo. San Bernardo
reflejaba la santidad y pureza irresistible de Jesús.
Rueguen, pues, al dueño de la cosecha que envíe obreros a su cosecha.”
Esta
reflección señalará los 5 principales obstáculos que impiden que los jóvenes
escuchen la voz del Maestro.
1.EL MATERIALISMO Y EL APEGO A LAS COSAS. El materialismo no es nada nuevo. En el Evangelio leemos de un joven rico que con entusiasmo se acerca a Jesús. Este joven le pregunta al Señor, qué era necesario para entrar al reino de los cielos. Jesús da una respuesta doble. Primero, Jesús dijo inequivocamente que para ganar la vida eternal es necesario observar los mandamientos. El joven rico, había vivido una vida honesta y recta, había observando los mandamientos. Pero Jesús lo reta y porque lo amaba, le pedía más. Pedía una entrega total al amor de Dios. Jesús le dice: «Si quieres ser perfecto, anda, vende lo que tienes y dáselo a los pobres, y tendrás un tesoro en los cielos; luego ven, y sígueme.» Al escuchar estas palabras, el joven se entristece y deja a Jesús. ¿Por qué? Porque optó por sus posesiones. Era un esclavo de sus posesiones. Sus posesiones le cegaban de forma que no podía ver el tesoro que tenía ante sus ojos – JESÚS la perla de valor infinito. Por eso Jesús dijo: ‟No se puede amar a Dios y al dinero.”
2. FREUDIANISMO/UNA VISIÓN FALSA DE LA SEXUALIDAD HUMANA. Vivimos en una sociedad dominada por los sentidos, lo sensual y la sexualidad. Seré muy franco: vivimos en una sociedad pornográfica. Por esto, pocos entienden y mucho menos viven la virtud de la castidad. El celibato es ante todo un don que Dios ofrece a ciertas personas, es fundamentalmente un carisma. Pero este don se descubre en la oración y debe ser aceptado. Y después que se acepta, se debe cultivar y defender contra los ataques del hedonismo y los imperiosos reclamos de la carne. La filosofía freudiana dice que es imposible vivir el celibato. Pero la Palabra de Dios dice lo contrario: ‟Para Dios todo es posible.” El sacerdote que vive profundamente enamorado de Jesús, María y la Iglesia, vive el celibato por amor a Dios y tanto más abundante serán en su día, los frutos de esta paternidad espiritual. Usando otros términos, quien asumen el carisma del celibato no niega su paternidad o maternidad sino lo sublima a un nivel más alto – haciéndose Padre y Madre de la familia del pueblo de Dios.
3. EL TEMOR AL COMPROMISO.En una sociedad donde el 60% de los matrimonios acaban en divorcios, en donde la economía es inestable y el progreso gira a un ritmo alarmante, muchos jóvenes temen el compromiso. ¿Por qué? Ven que los matrimonios se derrumban, los sacerdotes y religiosos abandonan la barca y dejan la Iglesia. Los jóvenes temen le temen al compromiso y huyen a cualquier responsabilidad que dure toda una vida. Ahora, en la carrera espiritual, muchos entretienen esa duda, se preguntan ‟¿podré perseverar hasta el final?” El mundo nos grita que no, pero para Dios no hay imposibles. Dios es nuestra roca y fortaleza sobre la que construimos nuestra existencia. O si le gusta las palabras del salmo: ‟El Señor es mi Pastor, nada me falta.” (Salmo 23,1)
4. CRISIS DE MASCULINIDAD.No es muy dificil ver lo que está pasando en nuestros tiempos, el declive de las vocaciones al sacerdocio y a la vida consagrada, la crisis en la Iglesia, la invasión de la subcultura homosexual en los seminarios y en el sacerdocio que ha debilitado a verdaderos, auténticos y candidatos serios para el sacerdocio. Valdría la pena leer la obra clásica: ‟Adiós a los hombres buenos,” cuyo autor es el periodista Michael Rose. Este libro examina los seminarios en las últimas décadas y cómo aquellos hombres que verdaderamente tenían una vocación fueron escoltados del seminario. Y por qué sucedió esto? Porque estos hombres rezaban el Rosario, pasaban tiempo con Jesús Sacramentado y cultivaban sus devociones y se mantenían fieles en su obediencia al Magisterio y las enseñanzas del Santo Padre. Quienes corrían los seminarios consideraban estas prácticas ‟anticuadas y obsoletas” y los que las practicaban no eran candidatos aptos para una vocación sacerdotal. Y simplemente los expulsaron, les sacaron del seminario. Y por el contrario, a los afeminados, los poco ortodoxos, los indisciplinados fueron aceptados y dados el pase para la ordenación. Y por consiguiente, ¿qué es lo que hemos visto en las últimas décadas? Claro, hubieron los problemas con el abuso de niños, pocos, pero los hubo. Pero el fracaso más grande se debe al la práctica homosexual entre el clero. ‟Adiós a los hombres buenos.” Y una bienvenida cálida a quienes no tienen vocación sacerdotal pero que sin embargo han sido ordenados.
5.LA OPOSICIÓN DE LOS PADRES DE FAMILIA Y LA
DEMÁS FAMILIA.Otro de los grandes
obstáculos para quienes sienten el llamado a la vida consagrada es la
resistencia y oposición de los mismos
padres de familia. Así pasó con el
llamado a la vocación sacerdotal de san Alfonso María Ligorio. San Alfonso siendo solo un adolecente había
logrado 2 Doctorados en derecho Civil y Eclesiástico. Ejercio su profesión de manera
extraordinaria, pues era
considerado el mejor abogado de sus tiempos.
Ejerció como abogado por muchos años sin haber perdido nunca ningún
pleito hasta que un día es derrotado gracias a la Divina Providencia. Fue
tal su vergüenza que prometió nunca más volver a los tribunales, sintió que el
mundo lo había tracionado. Despues de
mucha oración y ayuno, san Alfonso le comunica a sus padres su deseo de hacerse
sacerdote. Su padre autoritario,
oponiéndose a la vocación de su hijo, lo toma del cuello violentamente. Años más tarde, san Alfonso reveló que esos
habían sido los momentos más difíciles de su vida, el hecho que tuvo que ir
contra la voluntad de su padre para hacerse sacerdote. Es por esto que en sus escritos sobre la vida
religiosa san Alfonso dice que los padres pueden ser los más grandes amigos de
sus hijos o los más grandes enemigos.
Jesús dijo:‟La mies es abundante, pero los obreros pocos.” Roguemos al Señor de la mies que llame a sus obreros y que los jóvenes con generosidad escuchen su llamado, que trabajen incansablemente por la salvación de las almas. Que el lema de san Juan Bosco anime a los jóvenes: ‟Dame almas y toma todo lo demás.”
