CONQUISTAR LA CEGUERA ESPIRITUAL

Jesús, la »Luz del mundo» le dio vista a los ciegos.  Hoy muchos padecen de una ceguera espiritual.  Jesús puede sanarlos y regresarles la vista.

Esta reflexión resaltará tres causas principales de la ceguera espiritual y tres remedios para vencerla.  Pidamos, que Jesús, »Luz del mundo», disipe la ceguera espiritual de nuestra alma.


1.  LOS CELOS Y LA ENVIDIA.  La envidia es uno de los pecados capitales. La persona envidiosa se siente mal porque alguien tiene algo que el no tiene y se alegra cuando algo malo le sucede a esa persona. Leemos en las Sagradas Escrituras que por envidia Caín mató a Abel.  Por envidia, Saúl intentó matar a David. Por la envidia, los hermanos de José lo vendieron como esclavo.  Y la razón principal por la cual Jesús fue condenado, crucificado y murió es por la envidia de los Judíos.  ¿Le ha dado usted paso a los celos o la envidia?  Es tiempo de arrepentirse. 

2.  CORAJE Y AMARGURA.  El coraje no va con la justicia de Dios. Cuando la pasión y el coraje se apoderan de uno, es mejor callar y no estallar, porque de lo contrario podría ser catastrófico. Debemos aprender técnicas para controlar nuestro enojo y extinguir el fuego para que vuelva la calma.

3.  IMPUREZA.  Sin duda, ¡una de las causas principales de la ceguera espiritual hoy es por la adicción a la pornografía!  Con qué facilidad se tiene acceso a la pornografía. Hace cincuenta años, la pornografía mayormente estaba disponible en una u otra revista.  Pero hoy, adondequiera que uno ve, imágenes impuras nos bombardean por medio de programas de televisión, comerciales, cable, películas, revistas, diarios, anuncios, la moda de todas las temporadas – de primavera hasta el otoño, y especialmente en el internet.  Las fuentes de la inmodestia son inagotables. La avalancha de inmodestia está en plena fuerza.  No hay mayor fuerza en el mundo que milite tan ferozmente contra el crecimiento en la vida espiritual que abrirle el paso a la impureza.  Santo Tomás Aquino, el Doctor angélico, afirma que la impureza causa ceguera espiritual y es más lleva al odio contra Dios.  Muchos rechazarán a Dios, la Iglesia, la recepción de los Sacramentos porque se han vuelto adictos a este monstruo que se llama la pornografía, especialmente la pornografía a través del internet.  !Señor sálvanos, sánanos y devuélvenos la vista!

Tal como Jesús sanó a los ciegos hace dos mil años, Su poder es igualmente fuerte hoy.  Jesús puede sanar toda enfermedad espiritual – la ceguera espiritual.  Que nuestra oración sea: »Señor, dame luz para contemplar el resplandor y belleza de tu Faz hoy y por todo la eternidad!»  Apliquemos estas tres formas de usar nuestros ojos para así glorificar a Dios, santificar nuestras almas y vivir la bienaventuranza: »Dichosos los puros de corazón porque verán a Dios.» (Mt. 5,8)

1.  MEDITAR LA PALABRA DE DIOS.  Lo que el cloro es para una alberca, la Palabra de Dios es para la mente humana.  Si nuestra mente se ha contaminado con imágenes impuras e indecentes, es posible borrar y purificar estas imágenes.  Uno de los medios más eficaces para purificar la mente y restaurar la vista espiritual es por la lectura diaria de la Palabra de Dios, que es lampara para nuestros pasos y luz para nuestro camino. Jesús es el Verbo de Dios y la Luz del mundo que vino para disipar las tinieblas y la ceguera!

2.  CONTEMPLEMOS A JESÚS EUCARISTÍA.  Cuando Jesús vivió hace 2000 años, no todos lo pueblos lo vieron.  Cuando Jesús se encontraba en Galilea, no se encontraba en Jerusalén, y aunque podía estar en más de un lugar a la vez, Jesús limitó su presencia a un momento y un lugar.  Pero hoy hemos recibido una gracia extraordinaria: podemos estar en la presencia Real de nuestro Señor y Salvador en el Santísimo Sacramento.  Jesús está presente en el Sagrario o expuesto en Ostensorio en todas las Iglesias Católicas de todo el mundo al mismo tiempo.  Jesús nos hace una invitación a cada uno de nosotros: »Vengan a mi todos los que estén fatigados y sobrecargados y Yo les daré descanso.  Tomen mi yugo, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas.  Porque mi yugo es suave y mi carga ligera.» (Mt 11, 28-30)  Qué privilegiados somos porque podemos: visitar a Jesús, contemplar a Jesús quien está presente en el Santísimo Sacramento y podemos amarlo con todo el corazón.  El salmista nos invita: »Mirad al Señor, y estarás radiante de alegría.»

3.  CONTEMPLAR EL ROSTRO DE MARÍA.  Formemos el hermoso hábito de rezar a nuestra Madre Santísima todos los días: el Acto de consagración por la mañana, el Ángelus, el Acordaos, la Letanía a la Virgen María y en forma especial el Santo Rosario.  Cuando rece a la Santísima Virgen María, es de gran beneficio tener presente ante nuestros ojos arte sacro, una hermosa imagen de María, en cuadro, de bulto, una pintura o un mosaico.  En la oración elevamos la mente y el corazón a Dios.  Y cuando contemplamos una hermosa imagen de María – Nuestra Señora de Gracia, Nuestra Señora de Fátima, Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Nuestra Señora del Perpetua Socorro – nuestros ojos, nuestra mente, nuestro corazón, nuestra alma e incluso nuestro cuerpo se transforma!  Los escamas de nuestra ceguera espiritual caen de nuestros ojos y podemos ver a Dios y todo lo que concierne a Dios con mayor claridad.  En verdad, entre los hermosos títulos de luz dados a María están: Estrella del mar, Estrella de la mañana, Estrella de la evangelización.  El beato Papa Juan Pablo II en su Carta Apostólica sobre el Rosario, en donde introdujo los Misterios de la Luz, dijo que debemos esforzarnos por contemplar la Faz de Cristo por medio de los ojos de María.  Curemos entonces nuestra ceguera espiritual contemplando el hermoso rostro de María, la »obra maestra de la creación» (San Luis de Montfort)
