El término que los teólogos dan a la dignidad y gloria son: »Latria» que refiere al culto exclusivo de la Santísima Trinidad – Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. »Hyperdulia» es la veneración ofrecida a la Santa Virgen Maria, a Maria se la de la más alta veneración. »Dulia» es el termino teológico que designa el honor tributado a los santos. Pero »protodulia» corresponde a San Jose, siendo él el primero entre todos los santos, la palabra »proto» significa »¡primero»!
San Bernardino de Sena desarrolla el motivo de esta jerarquía teologal. El Doctor Franciscano de la Iglesia, expone, que Dios otorga gracias especiales correspondientes al oficio o misión que da a la persona.
Por ejemplo, los esposos, que reciben el Sacramento del matrimonio, reciben la gracia del matrimonio para crecer en amor mutuo y procrear hijos para el reino de Dios. El sacerdote, por el Sacramento de las Ordenes Sacerdotales, puede crecer en santidad diariamente al predicar la Palabra de Dios al pueblo de Dios y administrar los sacramentos con gozo. Las gracias otorgadas por Dios corresponden al estado de vida.
Por tanto, al gran san Jose, Dios confió la misión más sublime, la custodia de sus tesoros más preciosos. Una misión fue más sublime que la otra. Primero, Dios le llamó a ser el esposo de la Reina de los ángeles y los santos, el esposo de la Santísima Virgen María. ¡Cuán vocación más sublime! Pero el más grande designio encomendado a san José fue el de su oficio de »padre adoptivo» del Hijo de Dios vivo, el Hijo del Padre eterno ¡Jesús! ¡Esta sublime e inefable misión supera toda expresión humana!
Con vistas al cumplimiento a la doble misión y vocación, ¡Dios depositó una superabundancia de gracias en el corazón, mente y alma del glorioso san José!
Los hermosos títulos dados al glorioso san José exaltan una belleza poética: Ilustre descendiente de David, Luz de los Patriarcas, Esposo de la Madre de Dios, Padre nutricio del Hijo de Dios, Celoso defensor de Cristo, Jefe de la Sagrada Familia, Custodio de Vírgenes, Sostén de las familias, Consuelo de los desgraciados, Esperanza de los enfermos, Terror de los demonios y Protector de la Santa Iglesia…
Santa Teresa de Ávila quien ensalzó el poder de san José por salvarle la vida, dijo, que en su vida ¡no hubo ocasión cuando san José no acudió inmediatamente a socorrerla! El título de patrono de los padres de familia, tiene gran relevancia hoy día especialmente a la luz de las numerosas crisis que sacuden el mundo. Destacaremos las virtudes sublimes que san José vivió en su vida cotidiana.
1. REPRESENTANTE DE DIOS PADRE. El glorioso san José fue llamado a reflejar a Dios Padre a Jesús el Hijo de Dios. Fue una tarea monumental, pero tal como San José fue esa imagen de Dios Padre a su familia, todo padre debe modelar a san José y esforzarse por reflejar a »Nuestro Padre, que está en el cielo…»
2. PRESENCIA Y PRESENTE. Hoy el mundo sufre de gran carencia y confusión por la »ausencia del padre». Llamémosle a esta crisis el »síndrome de la deserción del padre». A causa del divorcio, el adulterio, el alcoholismo o el padre adicto al trabajo, el padre desatiende y descuidado a sus hijos, a su esposa y a su familia. La falta de apoyo moral, espiritual y la falta de afecto también son formas de ausencia de la figura paterna. Cuando se está ausente de esta forma se crea un vacío y una herida. El padre se hace autor de un ciclo vicioso que sus hijos seguirán. El buen san José nos modela todo lo contrario. San José vivió siempre en la presencia de Dios Padre y esto se desbordó y manifestó en su presencia amorosa, cálida, fuerte y tierna hacia su esposa y su Hijo. Los padres de familia, en imitación de San José, ¡deben estar presente de forma total para sus hijos! Sí se puede y se debe hacer para transformar así al mundo.
3. TERNURA. Tristemente, hoy muchos padres son fríos, corajudos, calculadores, abruptos, cortantes y tajantes en su forma de hablar. Cuando hacen esto, provocan y siembran miedo en sus hijos. El papa Francisco nos recuerda lo importante que es actuar y hablar en forma amable, en particular hacia los más pobres entre los pobres. Del corazón y la vida del san José sólo brotó un río de ternura, amabilidad, mansedumbre, gentileza, misericordia y compasión. ¡Qué gozo ha de haber sido el solo estar en su presencia! Lo cortés no quita lo valiente, la ternura no destruye la masculinidad, mas bien es una manifestación y dimensión de la virilidad del corazón de Dios Padre – esto lo vemos reflejado en la parábola del Hijo Pródigo.
4. FIRMEZA Y FUERZA. Aunque aparentemente paradójico, san José es modelo de ternura y reflejo de masculinidad, de autentica virilidad, de firmeza, valentía y fortaleza digna de la más alta admiración. ¡Así lo leemos en los Evangelios! – El camino largo y trayecto a Belén, las pruebas, el clima inclemente, el rechazo a su llegada, la agotadora y peligrosa huida a Egipto para salvar a su esposa e Hijo de la muerte a manos de Herodes – todas son pruebas de su masculinidad. Porque un hombre de mentalidad débil, un hombre delicado y sensual, un hombre afeminado cae como castillo de naipes al tener que afrontar estas situaciones difíciles. ¡Pero no fue así con el fuerte y varonil san José! Los niños necesitan desesperadamente un padre tierno y firme, necesitan un balance armonioso de estas virtudes opuestas. ¡Que san José interceda hoy por nuestros padres!
5. FIEL HASTA EL FINAL. Hoy más que nunca necesitamos hombres de palabra, que sean fieles a su compromiso, a su vocación y a su misión. Leemos en Evangelios que san José tuvo que afrontar muchos obstáculos, y hay muchos otros obstáculos que desconocemos. A pesar de ellos, san José fue fiel de principio a fin. Con qué frecuencia sucede hoy en día que al llegar fuertes pruebas, el hombre abandona su hogar. En vez de afrontar la situación y agarrar al toro por los cuernos, el hombre sucumbe a una plétora de vicios como los son la bebida, la pornografía, las drogas y el juego. El padre de familia debe meditar sobre la vida, las acciones, el ejemplo y la persona del gran san José. El padre debe consagrarse al glorioso san José, debe rezar a San José, debe imitar a san José y debe amar a san José. Si todo padre tomara al glorioso san José como guía y modelo, el mundo, la sociedad y las familias se transformarían. Glorioso san José, Esposo de la Virgen María, y Padre nutricio de Jesús el Hijo de Dios, ruega por nosotros ahora y en la hora de nuestra muerte. ¡Amén!
