Pasos prácticos para hacer una buena meditación o contemplación Ignaciana


1. 
Rogar a Dios por el don de la oración. 
Igual que los Apóstoles, deberíamos pedir a Jesús: »Señor, enséñanos a
orar…».  San Agustín dice:  »Somos mendigos ante Dios…»


2. 
Póngase en la presencia de Dios. 
Imagine que Dios le ve con un tierno amor.  Si estamos conscientes de su presencia,
entonces podemos darle nuestra atención.




3.  Lugar:   El lugar ideal es ante el Santísimo
Sacramento. 




4.  Lugar
de silencio.  El silencio es muy
importante.  Veamos el ejemplo de Elías y
su experiencia en la montaña.  Dios le habló
no en el ruido, sino en la suave brisa.



 



5.   Lugar
de oración/ oratorio — Las imágenes, usadas debidamente, ayudan en la
oración.  


 


6.  María —  Dedique estos Ejercicios a María, quien es
nuestro modelo.  En el Evangelio de san
Lucas, dos veces encontramos a María guardando/meditando las cosas en su
corazón — el Evangelio de san Lucas es el Evangelio de la oración y del
Espíritu Santo — la primera vez cuando los pastores van a ver al niño Jesús y
la segunda cuando el niño Jesús fue hallado en el templo después de tres días. 



7.  El
Espíritu Santo — El Espíritu Santo como Maestro Interior, nos puede ayudar
a orar.  Recordemos la carta del Apóstol
san Pablo a los Romanos, capítulo 8, el Espíritu mismo intercede por nosotros
con gemidos inefables.




8. 
»Habla Señor, que tu siervo escucha.» 
(Samuel en el templo)





9.  ¡Lea!  — 
Pero recuerde, que no está leyendo un libro »común y corriente», sino
está leyendo la Biblia que es la »Palabra de Dios».  (Primer paso en método ignaciono: la
Memoria.)





10.  Pensar
/ Guardar / Reflexionar —  El
Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica (CIC) dice que la oración puede compararse con
Jacob quien luchó toda la noche con el ángel. 
Porque a veces, la oración puede ser una verdadera lucha. (2 º paso
ignaciano:  el Entendimiento)  En su meditación, hágase las siguientes
preguntas: ¿Quién está presente en la escena? 
¿En dónde se encuentran?  ¿Qué
está haciendo?  ¿Por qué?  ¿Que significado tiene lo que está
pasando?  ¿Cuándo sucede esto?  ¿Cómo me concierne a mí?  En otras palabras, vea el por qué, quién,
cómo, cuándo y el dónde de la escena. 
Recuerde que la Palabra de Dios es como una espada de doble filo que
separa la médula del hueso.  La Palabra
de Dios está activa hoy como hace 2000 años.  
Todo esto se debe hacer no como un ejercicio académico, sino como medio
para entrar en unión con Dios. 




11.  Movimientos
del Corazón —  (Tercer paso
ignaciano: El uso de la Voluntad). Ahora hemos llegado al punto central de la
meditación, el movimiento del corazón. 
Cuando algún pensamiento mueva su voluntad o su corazón, ha llegado a la
esencia de la oración. ¿Cuales son algunos ejemplos de movimientos del corazón?   Puede ser: 
amor, acción de gracias, gratitud, alabanza, adoración, asombro y temor,
contrición y dolor, fe y confianza, deseo de ofrecerse a uno mismo como una
ofrenda, petición y súplica, temores y seguridad (que se pueden presentar al
Señor), ira, heridas pasadas, confusión y dudas, preguntas, descanso en el Señor
(Venid a mí todos lo que estéis cansados, Mt 11:28-30), propósito de cambiar y
anhelo de Dios (como el ciervos que anhela las corrientes de agua, así mi alma
suspira por ti, oh Señor …)



 



12.  Distracciones  — Las distracciones suelen ser parte de la oración.  Sin embargo, preste atención a lo que le
distrae, porque el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica (CIC) afirma que a menudo,
nuestras distracciones son una manifestación de un afecto o apego desordenado y Dios quiere que resolvamos o incluso que nos separemos de ello.



13. Regrese —  En la oración se debe regresar al »pozo»,
es decir, volver a leer el pasaje bíblico. 
A veces parece como si el pozo estuviese seco.  Incluso se podría comparar la oración con una
pesca.  A veces parece que no hay peces
en el agua, que los peces están dormidos o evitando la caña.  Pero de repente, ¡pican!  Después que pican el cebo hay una gran
pesca.  A veces parece que Dios se
esconde para que busquemos su rostro con más fervor.



 

4.  Aridez
/ Sequedad en la oración —  Puede
ser que en la oración su alma esté pasando por un proceso de purificación, por
aridez, por una »experiencia de desierto». 
Sin dirección espiritual, el neófita puede llegar a pensar que no está
orando sino perdiendo su tiempo.  Al
contrario, Dios está purificando su corazón. 
El amor se hace más puro.  Recuerde
las palabras de san Juan de la Cruz: 
»Buscar más al Dios de las consolaciones que las consolaciones de
Dios.»  Este gran Doctor Místico nos
advierte del peligro de la »gula espiritual» — de ir a la oración solamente
para sentirse bien y para recibir delicias sensibles.  Por analogía, ¡un matrimonio no pueden estar
en una perpetua luna de miel!  La
realidad se asienta en la vida de casados como en la vida mística.


 


15. Perseverancia  — Como vemos en la vida de los santos, la
perseverancia es otro punto clave para avanzar en la oración.  Jesús alaba a la viuda quien insistentemente
se presentaba ante el juez incrédulo simplemente por no resignarse hasta
recibir lo deseado. Igual que ella, nunca debemos desistir de nuestra búsqueda
de Dios en la oración.  Santa Teresa de
Avila, Doctora de la Iglesia, con acertadas palabras nos recuerda:
«Tengamos una determinada determinación de nunca dejar la
oración».  Como los atletas que
entrenan para perseverar hasta el final; así nosotros, los atletas de Cristo,
que hemos emprendido el camino en los Ejercicios Espirituales, debemos luchar y
perseverar hasta el final de nuestra vida, sabiendo bien que la corona de
gloria le espera en el cielo al ganador!




16.  Hora
Santa: La Hora de Poder — Estas son las palabras de arzobispo
Fulton J. Sheen.  Este gran «siervo
de Dios» fue fiel a su oración por más de cincuenta años — su Hora Santa
diaria —como sacerdote y obispo.  A pesar
de sus numerosos compromisos siempre hacía tiempo para su oración que él
llamaba, «¡La Hora de poder!»



 



17. Coloquio  — Una conversación de corazón a corazón con
Dios (Beato Cardenal Juan Enrique Newman). 
Siempre cierre su oración con una conversación con el Señor.  Pero igual puede haber un coloquio o muchos
en el tiempo de su oración.  Santa Teresa
de Avila dice que la oración es, ¡simplemente pasar mucho tiempo en silencio
con el Amigo que sé que me ama! 
¡Excelente!   ¡Es amistad con
Dios!



 

18.  Coloquio
Triple — Jesús dijo a santa Faustina, que Dios se comunica con cada alma
de una manera distinta.   Tal como es
único un copo de nieve o una huella dactilar, cada persona tiene que aprender
su propio estilo de oración.  San Ignacio
nos invita a que hagamos un triple coloquio. 
Hable con María, y entonces concluya con un Ave María; después con Jesús
y rece el Anima Christi;  Finalmente
hable con el Padre celestial y acabe con el Padre Nuestro.





19.  Revisión
— Este paso es muy importante en una meditación ignaciana.  Consiste en repasar lo que ocurrió en su
meditación, específicamente, repase cómo fue que Dios habló con usted.  El estar consciente de esto y haciendo nota
de ello, puede ser de gran utilidad para conocer las distintas formas que Dios
se comunica con usted individualmente.

 20.  Maria
—  Según San Luis de Montfort, María es
la forma más rápida, más fácil y más eficaz para llegar a Jesús.  Todo a Jesús por medio de María.  Consagremos a María nuestra tiempo de
oración, la Madre de Dios, Madre de la Iglesia y Madre nuestra.
